Blazing saddles was a great movie.  Cannot make them like that anymore.

Yeah. Blazing Saddles and Young Frankenstein are two of my favorite Mel Brooks movies.

He and Richard Pryor were great together. I loved "Silver Streak".

I always loved Stir Crazy. Probably saw it 20 times as a kid.

The man had an amazing life.

If you're a fan of his specifically, I HIGHLY recommend you read Kiss Me Like A Stranger, a book he wrote about his life. It's fascinating, funny and very moving. He speaks a lot about his career, his life with Gilda and what they both went through with her cancer, his (rather traumatic) boyhood, working with Mel Brooks...it's full of greatness.

I LOVED Silver Streak too! I just rewatched it earlier this year. And then See No Evil, Hear No Evil. He and Pryor had a great chemistry. I need to rewatch Stir Crazy soon, too.

Yeah, anybody else Pryor would've overwhelmed on screen but Wilder had that perfect balance of strait man and comedian. Also loved Young Franken-stein.
