Dammit Carl!

Always wanted to do one of these threads, and any chance to pimp my fave progrock band is a plus.  But we definitely do need Fridays.

Back to task: I've got World of... still on my mind - forgot how much fun American Mediums were and I'm pushing hard-ish to get past my Easy 8 (won't sell her, though).  Same goes for the German stuff too.  Really need to show my boats some attention, though.

Actually taking a full weekend off from work this week. Mainly going to be Elite and World of Warcraft. Hit level 100 with my hunter in WoW this week, and had a shit ton of quests open up. People where not kidding when they said the game opened up at 110. Have a few more factions to get my reputation up with before I can unlock world quests but definitely not lacking other things to do in game right now.

With my work schedule I haven't had much time to play Elite this week. Still out in the Witch Head nebula. Couple of jumps away from entering the main gas cloud. Been breaking up the monotony of jump, scan, jump, scan, rinse and repeat by landing on some planets and doing some surface exploration. Unfortunately, I'd run my SRV fuel down to almost nothing and haven't had any luck finding material to synth more. So its looking like its going to be of no use for the rest of this trip unless I find some materials in space. Its also going to put a dent in how long I can stay out, since I wont be able to gather materials to synth more poarts for my auto repair field to repair the wear and tear on my ship systems. Just recently repaired all my systems, they where all down 3-10%, and I still have auto repair points left. Should be able to finish exploring Witch Head, Bernards Loop and Orion and make it out to Colonia before my ship explodes due to wear and tear.

There will might be some CMANO as well. Have some things I need to test in the beta and have two new scenarios I'm working on. Just about done with the OOB for the first one. The other I'm in the process of mapping out French air bases in Google Earth to make import files. Once that's done I can start doing work in game.
PanzersEast: Have to think to myself.... will I play the first one by the Winter Sale?  Probably not, then I should remove Dragonfall

One of my favorites, too, DC!  Can't go wrong with Yes!!  Whatever time I have not spent watching football and tending to the various duties a weekend brings, will most likely be spent playing Civ IV mp and some more Alea Jacta Est.

Today and tomorrow we'll be car-shopping for the mrs.  Sunday a friend is coming with his charinsaw and we'll be trimming trees. I don't know how much gaming I'll be able to fit in.  That said:

Oriental Empires and Eclipse:New Dawn for the Galaxy for sure. Also continuing my campaign as the British in Colonization with TAC mod. Perhaps some Twilight Struggle if the next round of tourney matches starts up.

JudgeDredd

Cool tune.

I kind of like the idea of getting into World of Tanks...but my first foray was a mess with the usual, crappy, online experience. I might try it again.

There will definitely be F1 2016 and continuing my first season as an F1 driver for Marussia by racing in Sochi. Also, I will be working on my AAR for Band of Brothers:Ghost Panzers so Bob can tell me I'm doing everything right. There will also definitely be some Elite:Dangerous and I hope to get some DCS in...what with all the talk with Jarhead on DCS and VR - it's whetted my appetite again.

If I have anymore time, then I'll give Automobilista a good go as I've only tinkered with it a bit.

And there you have it.

DC.....awesome choice, I've been a Yes fan for decades (more decades than I want to admit to).  Picked up Fallout 4 on sale on Amazon.  Wow, loving it more than 3 and New Vegas (both of which I thoroughly enjoyed).  That and more HoI4 this weekend.

Toonces

Yes, eh?

It should be a Scourge of War weekend for me, with most of my attention focused on learning Waterloo.

No real plans to try anything else at this moment.  Should be surf all weekend, and that usually cuts into my gaming pretty significantly.

There will be some wargame air land battle

Some endless legend

And some world of tanks

Amazingly I've found a treasure trove of games in my unplayed backlog

Most of what I play this weekend will likely be VR based. I'm having a blast with the Zombie Training Simulator.

If I hit anything non-VR, it will probably be Wargame: Red Dragon, Shadow of Stars and maybe check out Void Destroyer 2.

...oh, and I might do a lot of surfing.

That last part isn't true. I just wanted to sound as cool as Toonces for a second.

CMANO....that's an idea!   I'm between jobs at the moment (starting a gig in Charlotte in a week or so) so maybe some CMANO, some ARMA3 some Battle of Moscow and definitely some Heroes and Generals where I've found my niche I think:  Russian Recon with a Big Armored Car, a fixed up SVT and binoculars.  I've been avoiding the Panthers and hunting down paratroopers and pilots and other riff-raff.  I still get 90% of my kills when I jump out and shoot some frantically stunting German.  I'm usually not sure what they are doing as they leap all over and what not until I finally hit them that second time (It takes two hits to kill with the SVT, unlike say 4-8 with SMGs and Pistols).  I'm not very accurate at long or short range so I often wait until the target German mime-twitches away to 30 yards or so and then I finish him off.
One of the wonders of the Big Armored car is that all the Germans know that in usual driving mode, the player/driver's head is sticking out and there's a small chance of killing the player/driver with your basic ordinary bullets.  However, I've only been killed like that once (at a range of about 2 meters before I figured out my face wasn't behind any armor when I drove in 3rd person) and its the same story as with the classic old Red Orchestra Russian AC:  just don't drive directly at the incoming fire and you will be okay almost all the time.
BUT this means almost all the Germans lurking in range will open up on me as soon as I drive into view.  It's recon with a vengeance since they give away their positions and the local Russians kill them pretty fast.  This also works for recon versus armor -- though having tanks shooting at you from all over can turn out badly occasionally.  But in Heroes and Generals, once you are well-spotted or even roughly localized (in the case of big tanks), somebody is going to blow you up.

Gonna set up a freshly reinstalled DCS 1.5. and learn the Mirage 2000.

The learning part is easy.  It's always the button/key mapping and other hardware setup that takes too damn long.   :uglystupid2:

Can't stop playing Elite: Dangerous

Was saving up for an Asp Explorer but finally realized the wisdom of specializing your ships. Before Horizons, I just ran with an all-purpose Cobra III. Really don't think that's feasible anymore. I'm going with a "Trader / Mission Courier" and a "Dogfighter / Bounty Collector". Finally fitted out the Cobra III to A-specs, though no Engineer mods yet (cause I really don't understand how the system works). It's now fitted with mines -- built for speed, cargo capacity, and ability to outrun interdictors.

Sold my Viper and plan to buy a Vulture to be my Dogfighter. Figure I need to get up to about $10-11M credits before I can buy one and fit it out with mid-level specs. Right now only have $8M. Game can definitely be a grind but for whatever reason I'm completely gripped by it now.

Continuing with the same: Naval Action. Finally got enough to fully crew my "Exceptional" Renomme light frigate. Trading some, crafting some, but mainly just enjoying combat and fleet missions as well as taking enemy prizes. As Britain, there is no shortage. Lots of French and Spaniards.

Also some "Wars of Napoleon" and Scourge of War: Waterloo. Need to get my total Napoleonic fix...land and naval

Crossroads

Lock N Load World at War: Blood and Bridges arrived, lots of counter clipping taking place next  :smitten:

On computer front same-old same-old, but why not as it is good: JTCS East Front PBEM tournament continues, taking me to Ukrainian Steppes in Jan 1943, while CS Middle East PBEM with Berto to continue at Golan Heights in 1967. Need to catch up with a couple of FlashPoint Campaign's scenarios I've missed so far as well.

Possibly, starting some work with new CS Middle East 1.03 Tournament Set E (I think is the next available letter) scenarios, pitting some French and British steel against Libyans in Libyan 1985 desert set.

Still playing Naval Action too.  Big map reset coming soon along with some other changes.  I've been mostly trading and crafting lately, with the crew costs I ran out of money just fighting.

Which server do you play on mikeck?  I'm on PVP1, captaining for the United States.
