Probably some DCS with Nef.. World of Warships.. Maybe some Civ V.

Big Weekend.  Starting with some Grand Tactical board gaming in Sword, Juno and Gold and then moving on to computer games such as DCS, ARMA III and maybe something else.

Looks like some Attila and Close Action might be coming up some time this weekend.  So that could be fun.  I also got Empyrion a long time ago, so maybe I'll look at that.

I've not flown in DCS much this week.  Been itching to fly to my fiery fireball death again.

Did a little studying on the A-10C but haven't finished my prep yet.  No hurry, since there are so many other aircraft with which I can just jump in and go.  <:-)

lol. I haven't flown at all this week, now that I'm a working man again, I haven't gotten down to my gaming rig as much :-(

Well..as we know. It's work.

However, GOG.com had a killer sale and I decided to give Age of Wonders III a shot. (Just base game) so grabbed it for 8 bucks.

Very happy with it. The graphics are nice, combat is good, AI is pretty good too. Also, there's a real frustrating control with how the zoom levels are. I would love it to be easier to pan. Mouse to edge and it pans. But it is still a good game. I have been just playing the High Elves campaign.

I grabbed Lone Wolf for my Android Tablet, and I have been really liking it.

I'm looking at grabbing something like 4 Against Darkness - I have been wanting to do something RPG but not relying on the PC so much, but we'll see.

BTW Jason P, I'm here to tell you that Darkest Hour is the Best FPS EvahTM.

Opps, I forgot that existed! -- though nice to hear a vote for it.  :coolsmiley:

No, I meant Darkest Hour: A Hearts of Iron Game, i.e. HOI2 with lots of upgrades. OJ'sDad has been playing it quite a bit, according to my Steam popups.
ICEBREAKER THESIS CHRONOLOGY! -- Victor Suvorov's Stalin Grand Strategy theory, in lots and lots of chronological order...
Dawn of Armageddon -- narrative AAR for Dawn of War: Soulstorm: Ultimate Apocalypse
Survive Harder! -- Two season narrative AAR, an Amazon Blood Bowl career.
PanzOrc Corpz Generals -- Fantasy Wars narrative AAR, half a combined campaign.
Khazâd du-bekâr! -- narrative dwarf AAR for LotR BfME2 RotWK campaign.
RobO Q Campaign Generator -- archived classic CMBB/CMAK tool!

Meanwhile, my Secret AAR Project continues to endeavor to persevere, with some brutal knife-edge fighting, and out of the ashes wins, and now some dangerously crushing losses (somewhat surprisingly although I should have really expected it). The campaign isn't in the bag yet by a long shot.

I highly recommend the DLC for the AOE3 game. Apart from the new units, the changes made to the game fix a lot of issues with the initial release and make the game a whole lot more interesting.

I've got it, but usually play the Arsenal of Democracy mod. I know I'm being lazy as I could fire up a game, but how does it compare?

I suspected as much to be honest, but couldn't resist the plug

I'm getting dense in my old age. You mean Darkest Hour the Red Orchestra spinoff? Or have I lost the plot even more... :-"

I can't say directly because I've only played DH (and one of its own epic mods which upgrade things even more, previously called "AAR" but now called "The Grand Campaign"). Back when I was shopping them I chose DH partly because the tech tree tipped the balance for me, and partly because it had an official World War I variant campaign. (Not originally connected to the scripts for the WW2 campaign however, something the "AAR/GC" mod fixed.)

I noticed a few weeks (?) ago, AoD got a new major update which I saw a little positive feedback on. If you haven't fired it up recently, you might want to check and see what the new hotness is.  O0

Some non gaming is high point - watched Doctor Strange with my daughters for a second weekend running.

Also have had a go with Rainbow Six Siege as it is free to play on Steam this weekend. Now I suck at FPS but I have had a blast playing the "situations" and the coop "terrorist hunt" missions. A hoot playing as GIGN and GSG9 operatives. Next some SAS and FBI. I have no doubt I would get murdered on the full PVP mode, but this is fun and good practice. I think I may need to get this - is 50% off today.

Plus I like the business model. Season pass etc just get early access to new content, some faster progression and cosmetic stuff, but does not wall bits of player base off from maps etc like Battlefield and some others. Titanfall 2 sounds good for this as well.

Yep, that's what I was on about.  I briefly participated in public beta testing for the 7.1 version last night.  This introduces the Eastern Front to the game, so now it is a Red Orchestra spin-off of a Red Orchestra spin-off...

Dammit Carl!

Inception level stuff indeed.  How'd it play?
