I buckled after seeing this blend of roster management, fantasy adventure, and light turn-based tactics.

Not regretting the purchase one bit, after an hour and a half.  Finally someone got this odd mix right, and with a modern game engine.  Hopefully still enjoy this after 10 or 20 hours just as much.

Rubs my sports manager zone with a less serious bent.

....I read that as "Epic Mangler" at first. Clearly way too tired this morning...
ICEBREAKER THESIS CHRONOLOGY! -- Victor Suvorov's Stalin Grand Strategy theory, in lots and lots of chronological order...
Dawn of Armageddon -- narrative AAR for Dawn of War: Soulstorm: Ultimate Apocalypse
Survive Harder! -- Two season narrative AAR, an Amazon Blood Bowl career.
PanzOrc Corpz Generals -- Fantasy Wars narrative AAR, half a combined campaign.
Khazâd du-bekâr! -- narrative dwarf AAR for LotR BfME2 RotWK campaign.
RobO Q Campaign Generator -- archived classic CMBB/CMAK tool!

Wow!   That does look intriguing.  Keep us posted!!

I played this game for quite some time a couple of months ago. There were pretty severe balance problems. If they have these fixed, then this would be a good pickup. I will give it another shot here this next few days. It's an interesting concept.

If you want a game similar to this, but very well done, consider Battles of Norghan. My team has been promoted from Division 8 to Division 4...but is finding the way a lot tougher.

I also have Battle Of Norghan.

Haven't really got into it yet, if only because the game's old game engine restricts you to a low resolution.  So it's either stretched and blurry, or extremely small, even on my relatively low 1366x768 laptop screen.  I'm not normally one to complain about text & graphics being too small, but this issue has been a hold-up for me.  :-\   I want to do some more Norghan, but I need to get used to this issue in order to do so.

Norghan's system is also more like a classic team vs team setup.  As in a sports manager game, or something like the Blood Bowl campaigns. Whereas Epic Manager is more like Darkest Dungeon, or Renowned Explorers, in that you take your team out to defeat challenges, take the spoils, and come back to do it again elsewhere.  The two are a bit different, but they're still what amounts to my casual laid-back gaming.  :bd:

It appears from prior posts that we share many of the same gaming interests...this game is a good one, with lots of strategies to try. I prefer one monster tank, then a bunch of ranged attackers. Only issue is when I come up against a lot of ranged myself...that eff up my tank before he gets into melee range.
