Resident Evil 7 Biohazard demo out on Steam...

Looking forward to this as it looks to be somewhat of a return to what made the series great which is survival horror and less of a action/shooter. You only get the first hour of gameplay though.

I bought this for myself yesterday. Merry Christmas to me!

Ive never played the genre before but after the fam left I started playing at 11pm. and didnt quit until 2am. Needless to say I almost kept the lights on when I went to bed. I had headphones on and the sounds and sights were quite scary. And I'm not the startled type but geesh.

a (very) mild spoiler about the setting of the game

[spoiler]The setting was very interesting initially, a deep South plantation in total decay as one is forced to uncover mysterious circumstances. The ambiance is really incredible but my fear is that this has gone from the creepy and murderous, surpassing the plausible regional supernatural, and straight into a possible far-fetched scientific experience. The former is what I had hoped for and the latter is something I usually avoid. Ive never played any of the others besides the first although I do own one of the previous that never got any play and it was more of a shooter from what I understand. [/spoiler]

The story seems very linear with goals to be met on each 'level' but man is it creepy.
