Probably worse, unless they got her into the OR in record time. Most dissecting (rupturing) aorta survivors are diagnosed and treated well before circulatory system collapse even sets in, not after.

A ruptured aorta probably happened after the fact, probably on the way to the hospital or in the hospital. Because had that happened on the plane, she'd bleed out in seconds internally and be dead fast. Sometimes it goes unnoticed though and could be relatively small (a microscopic rupture).

An aortic rupture is what happened to Alan Thicke.
