Do you guys remember the wax crayon they included in the purple Basic box and the blue Expert box to color in the dice?

I still have many of these dice.  I love them because of their value to my gaming history.

@bison...I think there are few youtube videos on how to check to see if your dice are imbalanced.  Involves salt-water solution.  Clear dice are best apparently.

Yeah.  I'm going to do it sometime too.  I'm not sure that those particular test are good for determining whether a dice behaves in a "weighted" manner.  The alternative would be to roll a dice 100s of times to get a sample and figure out the % each side is rolled.

Some where.  In some move, my original dice were lost.  A sad day when I realized it.

That sucks dude.  They were the only dice I owned for years.  Two sets one from the red box and one from the blue box.

I'll publish my results in an academic journal.  Most likely it'll totally screw up the space time continuum.

I think I might still have my original DnD dice around here somewhere...the six dollar pack that came with a crayon so I could fill in the numbers myself. I used them a LOT. The 20-sided die was used so much the edges on it are smooth and it rolls like a ball if used.  ;D

I still have a set of "pipped" d8s that I got in Germany in '83 or so, to go with my '81 plastic lumps from the Errol Otus-era red and blue boxes

I loved the ones that came with the colored D&D boxes back in the 80s.  Plus those similar, but huge, d10s that came in the GDW boxes.

The modern "precision dice" don't use anywhere near the same molds as those D&D oldies.  Crappy knock-offs.  The d20s were double digits back in the day, for example, whereas all the modern ones I've seen only have a single digit per side and you must color each set of numbers differently.  Plus the overall shapes aren't as even and the nasty flash sticking out on some.  *sigh*

The one thing I can totally respect about Gamescience dice is that they are made in America.  I'm half tempted to purchase a set because of that fact alone.
