A really tempting offer. How does Endless Legend compare to Age of Wonders 3?

I was looking at endless space 2, I believe this offer is to temp you tto buy, then they spring the new one for release, I also have a few of these not played yet, I'm not saying this is a bad offer ,I m saying the new game looks like it will be ready soon, I watched a lot of videos on it, and it was really good

Es2 is spectacular but it's still in early access - it won't be on any sales for a while

This is a fantastic deal. Dungeon of the Endless and Endless Space are both good.  Endless Legend is truly superior (Shelldrake, in my opinion it's significantly better than AOWIII).

AoWIII is a wargame masquerading as a 4x.  It's a great game, but it's really ALL about combat and the empire-management piece of it is fairly light.

Endless Legend is a different animal, and much more of a deep 4x with an emphasis on heroes and building/designing your own units.  It's very innovative.  The city management piece takes more planning but is the best I've seen in a long time, and the faction design/storyline are  both very unique.  Tech research looks familiar but has a few subtle tweaks that profoundly change the way you do research.  The combat mechanics are WEGO and offer some different and interesting challenges.

The only real knock on the game is that, by the time you're done customizing your units and armies, there's not much differentiation between the different factions.  At least, not that I've been able to see playing against the AI.

EL offers the best dang interface I've seen on a 4x game in a LONG time.  The sum of all the different innovations makes it a new and refreshing change for those who love 4x games, and especially for those who had grown a little tired of playing dressed up versions of Sid Meier's Civ I for the last 25 years.

it just suggests to me there thinking of updating ES2 or bringing it out of early access maybe

I just wanted to say thanks for pointing out the sale.   While I was not a fan of Endless Space.  Endless Legend is awesome.

Oh and I am hating you right now for the lack of sleep.   ;D

Thanks Skwerl and FarAway Sooner for your insights. I am going to pull the trigger on Endless Legend but will go with the less expensive EL Collection package since I already own Endless Space. In your opinion is Endless Dungeon (also on sale) also worth getting?
