The multi-generational farm wisdom here in West TN (on the north side of the American south east of the Mississippi River), is that you don't put anything in the ground before April 20th.

A few years ago, we did indeed have a snow April 20th.

Very sad! Here in Fla. if you fall all you have to worry about is getting eaten by alligators. Or sunstroke. Or hit by lightning, attacked by coyotes, and being run-over by someone looking for a parking place to go to a yard sale, carried off by fire ants, or somebody trying to build a condo on top of you as you lay helpless on the ground. That's the price of Paradise.
