I read the book maybe 20 years ago or so. I didn't even know there was an attempt to make a TV series. Given that the book was better (though I'll have to re-read it at this point to know) is the series still worth watching when it becomes available over here in The Americas?

Forgot all about this book. Meant to read it after enjoying Good Bye Mickey Mouse so much (P51 themed as I recall). It has definitely been 30+ years since I read that. Guessing I was ~15 years old at the time. Wonder what I'd think of it now.

Might grab SS GB on the Kobo.

Hilary Bailey (who was once married to Michael Moorcock) wrote a great Battle of Britain Lost- style alt-history story with some mystical elements back in 1964 called 'The Fall of Frenchy Steiner'.

I remember SS-GB was kind of a slog for me. It took several tries for me to get through it, but I finally did...though that was years ago.

I tried to watch Man in the High Castle but couldn't get much into it...and no, haven't read the book. That's another that I've started but can't get through.

I've tried with that too. Same result.

As a novel, I find Man in the High Castle disappointing.  Reminds me too much of John LeCarre, and his opaque view of espionage.
Cannot get into the series at all. 

In re SS-GB, is Len Deighton writing anymore?  Used to look forward to his work a great deal.
