Before I had kids I would have so gotten out into that shit as it was happening, driving and skidding around in my 78 Subie Brat when there was no one else on the roads. Once I even went snowmobiling down interstate 91 with some friends... and, yes there was alcohol involved.

Now, almost 30 years later Winter has devolved into just another PIMFA.

Pretty much went from a forcasted 5-8 inches, then 8-12 then back to 5-8 then 3-5 snow to an almost non-event of maybe 2 inches here in NOVA.  I think my back is glad  :)

It looks like we got about 3" so far.  It's snowing pretty hard, but it's supposed to switch to all rain in a couple of hours. 

Definitely not a good day to be on the road, that's for sure.  I'm sitting here under the blankets with Howard on the radio, a hot cup of coffee, and Weigley's The Age of Battles in my lap.  Life could be worse.

Damn, there are fist-sized snowflakes coming down out there, and hard.  Good thing this crap is turning to rain soon.

Two hours west of Toonces Island we also got about 2-3 inches.

It doesn't seem to be sticking to the trees right now. When that starts up later branches start snapping and power lines start falling.
