I like the map and the graphics. I hope they leave them alone, other than maybe making them more Hi-res. Then clean up the UI and fix stuff under the hood. That's all I want. I DO NOT want a "re-imagining" or a major re-vamp. It is a classic for a reason. Fix the stuff that does not work right, clean up the UI, make the graphics higher res (or not) and send it to me. If you do not like this style of game, look elsewhere. The hex & counters is what makes it attractive.

I wonder if unit breakdowns always have to end up with multiple smaller units of the same type as the parent? There appears to be a German panzer division split into 3 panzer regiments in the Hungarian screenshot. I believe it should be 1 panzer and 2 motorized to be more accurate. That kind of bugs me about GGWitE as well, though it can probably be rationalized that the tanks and infantry have been integrated into 3 equal combat commands or kampfgruppes.

While I am not a "hex and chit" guy first and foremost.  It works at the operational and strategic level.  Besides that, TOAW 3 was a great game.  It stuck with the basics of a strategy game, yet also had some very unique mechanics that worked fairly well.  It wasn't perfect, but I can't think of another game that had the scope, scale, detail, and still worked.

The short of it is as mentioned above.  Don't fix what ain't broke.  Clean up some of the little things, optimize the engine, and smooth out the UI.  But don't "re-imagine" the whole thing.

I'm not asking for a radical overhaul of the game. Would be nice if it didn't look like basically every version of the game I've bought previously. I've purchased at least 3 iterations of TOAW since 2000. If this feels like simply more of the same with a bit of polish, I'll pass. No big whoop and I won't bash the game. I just won't buy it.
