I am aware of those bitey black flies and we do get them here, but usually only when the wind is blowing hard offshore.  Summer usually brings a delightful sea breeze in Newport, and that keeps those bad boys inland.

Sadly, while warm, summer in the tourist capital of the northeast that is Newport brings its own special set of challenges.  Having lived here for two years, there really isn't a good time to be a resident.  If it's not one thing, it's another.   :pullhair:
