I see they have the expansion Supernova for cheap too....but I have the base game on Impulse.  Would the expansion bought from Gamersgate work?  Thanks, Ray

Some of their pricing seems screwed up.  Shogun 2 is listed for $10.18 and it says that's 89% off regular price.  I don't think they were charging $90 for it normally.

I wanted to buy the Gods and Kings expansion for Civ V so I was initially excited when I saw it listed as 46% off.  Excited was replaced by confusion when the price was listed as $26.96.  That didn't sound like 46% off of the usual $29.95 price to me.  More like 10%.  I emailed them for clarification about a week ago but they haven't responded.

Does the Impulse version require the Impulse client to be running when you load the game?

If it doesn't, and Armada doesn't have it's own DRM on it (don't think it does on Gamersgate), then it should be just fine.  Might flip out your GameStop-Imp client, though, when you do start that up.  It may even try to re-download the files to the original game over it, if it ever does an auto-update like Steam does.

It ought to, yes.  Ntronium has said all versions of Supernova should work with the base game, even if you purchased them from separate sites.

I don't know who sets the sale prices at GamersGate, but I bought The Guild Complete Collection for $1.50 a couple of days ago and it was priced at $6.00 shortly thereafter. I should have gifted everyone at the lower price when I had the chance.  ;)

I'm thinking seriously about getting it, even with my backlog. But then again, for $15 more I could get DC: Case Blue, and I have heard a lot of good things about both.

I've found UoC a fun play when you don't have time for something as long as the DC scenarios.  Definitely worth the $15 and good for those evenings when I don't have the mental energy for controlling scads of units.

I noticed that this morning too and decided to pass on this "sale" of Gods and Kings.  I did pick up Pride of Nations for MAC for only 5.99 though!  :D

One of the game reviewers for Unity said that the game is good but gets repetitive after a while with larger maps and more units to push around.  That was enough to dissuade me despite some positive feedback from fellow Grogheads a while back.

I have been too busy with other games to install any of the game in The Guild Complete compilation yet. And I won't install The Guild 2 base game because the GamersGate version (at least) has StarForce copy protection on it. As far as I know, the rest of the games in the collection are DRM-free.
Regardless of how good a PC game may be it will always have its detractors and no matter how bad a PC game may be it will always have its fans.

You only need to install The Guild 2: Renaissance to have everything in the Guild 2 series.. except the Tutorials (for some reason).  And yes, it's DRM-free.

In that case, just do a YouTube search for TG2 Renaissance Tutorial and go through some guy's set of three that he made.

Yes, as I noted above, everything in that collection is DRM-Free except The Guild 2 base game. Thanks for the tip about the Renaissance Tutorial on YouTube.
