Happy to see that someone finally after 20 years made a game that has more features and is better than moo2. Personally, and I know I'm in the minority, I thought moo3 accomplished this.

I am glad you guys are enjoying the game. We have more updates in the works and are teasing some DLC ideas (announcement soon).  ;D

Ah but a game is not even close to MOO2 unless it has turn based combat! And Stars in Shadow turn based combat is MOO2 combat and more!

This is a great game.

Currently having a blast on a 99-star map, with sparse star setup, marathon tech length and rare habitable worlds settings. Very gripping. It's a damn time-vampire.

Please - more races! Can you also add different characters for human civs? Sometimes it's fun to go against other humans but they use the same character images...

Using the same settings on a 150 star map and I am also having a blast! My only complaint about the game is wanting the rare settings to be more rare. Especially on the larger maps where planet micro can be too much.

The Dev replied so hoping that will be the case. Also a new race will be coming in the new DLC. The Tinkers:

"With the addition of the Tinkers, who prefer Arid worlds, we will be changing the balance of planet generation. My plan is to reduce the frequency of habitable worlds slightly on the "normal" setting, and then increase the variation between high and low settings.

But changing the frequency won't guarantee a certain number of habitable words; there is still a random element which I think is important."

I checked Steam and the game website and see no mention of multiplayer.  Am I correct that there is none?  How is the AI?

No MP and the AI is good. I've had a lot of fun since its release.

There is no MP but it would certainly be fun to play MP if you could! Maybe a future thing?

The AI is actually really good. One of the better AI's in my opinion. I play on normal and still get a decent challenge. But of course the AI could always use more work.

Yeah, Stars in Shadow's AI is one feature that deserves more mention than it generally receives IMO.  Like most AI's, it's not quite as good at expansion as a human player (and that's based on when I last played it a couple months ago), but it's definitely no slouch overall.

I actually find that it expands decently my beef with the current AI is that it tends to spread it's ships out too much and will not form enough large fleets so it is easier to pick them off one by one.

Game is growing on me but the next game, i'll have to set the stars density on sparse...

Multiplayer is onlikely at this point, though potentially something for the (very) long term. Getting a great singleplayer experience is what we are after.

...and this philosophy is greatly appreciated. Too many games these days focus on a MP aspect while ignoring those who prefer a quality SP experience. Thank you.

But for some of us singleplayer also means solo hotseat.  :(
