I did pretty good with our other sorties that night. The Gotha was just a finnicky beast back then. I knew I had lost control, thats why I was saying not to get in. When you start to lose control with the Gotha, it was rare to recover!

I haven't checked back into ROF ever since their big UI update screwed all my keybinds two or three years ago.     If that server, and one of the others I used to enjoy, is gone then I'd be sad.

EDIT:  I'm thinking of the Full Realism (Wings) server.  Not sure if same because they had two IIRC.

I didn't die that time!  Mostly because we never did find the enemy.  Unless you count that cloud bank Tuna flew into and never came out of as the enemy.

I never did pick up the campaigns.  Been getting back into IL-2 lately but just SP for now.

New Wings Wargrounds is what you're looking for and it is one of the few still popular-ish (evening times GMT, mainly weeekends).  There is also a concerted effort to populate servers on Thursday nights your time.  Again it's usually WG, but they also use "The Cuban Syndicate Connection" - and that server is also popular on Sunday eves GMT.  The server was set up by a dedicated, yet laid-back Roffer, who goes by Cuban Coverrunner in-game.  On Sundays he puts up missions which often have a bit more to them than the standard MP-fare - well worth checking out.

I am noticing a strange phenomenon...

The Holiday Sale period is one where I actually buy fewer games. First, I pretty much have already bought anything I want and second, its a time when there are few new releases and the games that do come out really aren't advertised very well. Without that, "new...shiny" appeal to drag me into a purchase, I tend to be more fiscally behaved.
