The rumour I heard was that MS might be buying EA, not Steam.

I don't see why Valve would sell...steam is clearly a very profitable service.

I have a friend who likes to brag about his grandson who makes big bucks working for Microsoft. I am surprised that I have a tongue left after biting it so much.

I really want to ask him when his grandson is going to convert Windows 10 into a real operating system.

The real question might be: Does Valve have more principle than greed? Would they sell if the price is right?

Indeed.
Valve is already trying to branch out, with its own OSs and gaming consoles, whereas MS hasn't been the great monopoly it used to be.
Would MS's shareholders really be OK with the company throwing the amount of money needed for this transaction?
