Oh but it is spiral bound... it just has an outer cover over the binding. Coincidentally, I even have my original manual from when I first bought the game back in 1991 (or maybe 92, not sure). The rest of the game items were given away in 2005 by my (Now Ex) Wife along with my original Amiga500, monitor, Commodore64, and TRS80 Color ComputerII, recently forcing me to scour eBay after getting bitten by the vintage computing bug. 

I hung on the manual for sentimental reasons after that. Also, the first 60 pages are basically a history lesson of the Battle of Britain, so a keeper for that reason as well.

I actually played that more than TFH, but it was only released for DOS. I still have SWOTL, both as part of the LucasArts 3 game bundle (Battlehawks, TFH, SWOTL) on 3 1/2 floppy, and also by itself on CD w/ all expansions.

I'm going to be setting up a nice DOS/WIN95 retrobox in the near future. I've already located a nice 17" CRT with what I suspect might be a Trinitron (or equivalent quality) picture tube.

Also I never played SWOTL because I didn't have a PC until 1998.

I pray they one day make a modern version of it.

The phrase 'vintage computing' makes me feel olde.

^Man, someone in that thread mentioned Battlehawks 1942 - I had that on the Amiga as well. Loved it too. Still - a modern remake would be the cat's meow.

Just beat the Athenians in my King Philip campaign (Field of Glory 2) and now moving on to the 4th of 5 campaign missions, the Scythians. Also downloaded a bunch of new user made single player campaign mods, including the Silk Road campaign that incorporates Chinese factions in to Field of Glory 2 by our very own jomni.

Drinking beer now in celebration of this bumper crop of new gaming.

I know what you mean - I bought the Tank Battle and Civil War packs for a buck each, even though I got a few of 'em for free on my iPad for reviews a few years back. Nice to have them on my PC. I just wasted a good hour or so playing the Civil War Gettysburg game which is quite fun.

Finally bought a used pc that will probably handle WoFF.  It was all part of my agenda to force myself to move all the furniture back into the mini storage apartment in order to locate my CFS3 disc.  I will soon be back in a virtual cockpit after a ten year absence.

I finally got some time on Saturday to play. 

I've got my Pillars of Eternity group up to Level 13.
I've discovered who/what "The Master Below" is.

I've also just about got my new Falcon set up with all of the old files transferred.  The only major things left are stored email and my email contacts.  I really hope I can get into my email contacts.

One more week of work and then I'm off for 3 months.  No more teaching summer school for me ever again.

I had a free night at a Marriott, so my wife and I decided to take a quick trip to see the American Revolutionary War museum that opened last year in Yorktown VA:

We drove down Friday night, spent the night in Williamsburg, saw the museum on Saturday, then had lunch in Yorktown before driving home.  The museum is nice, and is a good addition to Williamsburg, Jamestown, and the Yorktown Victory Center which are all in the area, but I don't think the museum would be worth a trip just to see only it.

I had hoped to spend some time on the ASL game I set up, but I'm going to do yardwork this morning and play tennis this afternoon.  I'm also in the midst of overhauling the hydraulic disc brakes and the fork on my mountain bike, so I have plenty of projects going on.  On the other hand, this past week I turned down a promotion which would have meant a lot more responsibility for only a little more pay.  I had been busy with that application since January and then the decision was weighing on me, but now that the decision is behind me, I can enjoy the free time I would have lost had I accepted the job.
