First weekend I've had to computer game in a month and a half.   

All I played was Pillars of Eternity - but I enjoyed it a lot.

Buys $3,000 computer and uses it to play Pillars of Eternity? isn't our hobby awesome? 

Don't like shooters, don't play flight sims, but I love me some RPGs and turn based wargames!

Anyone else want to point out something that makes me Olde? I've owned VWs built before the Tet Offensive? JFK and I were alive at the same time? I was a senior in High School while Jimmy Carter was still president? I got a pet rock and a mood ring for Christmas?

I had a TRS-80 Model I what came with 4K of RAM.  Upgradeable for a scant $250 in 1979 money to 16k.

And I still miss my Amiga 500.

No, it did not. It had 24K of RAM and no floppy. The next birthday, he got me a 5.25" floppy and DOUBLED the ram to 48K! Talk about ballin'.

And there was no pr0n back then in the BBS days. Well, okay, there MAY have been, but naive me was totally unaware of it. Hell I didn't find the first weird 'adult' themed game on a BBS until I stumbled on one back in 1996 or so.

Mattel Intellivision?? You some kind of intellectual?

My very first home computer was a Texas Instruments TI99-4a with no peripherals or drives at all. I programmed it with simple entries I found in the backs of magazines. I was 9 and had a choice between that and the Timex Sinclair.

I graduated to a C-64 with a 1541 disk drive around 1987. My cousin had a Vic-20 with a tape drive!

Around 1990 I spent about 1000 dollars of my savings I got from summer jobs to get my Amiga 500 with a memory upgrade and fancy monitor. I got Shadow of the Beast as my first Amiga game. Didn't have my first PC until 1998, a couple of years after college...but my cousin had one, with an amber display, which we used for Print Shop, Hardball, and Test Drive. Man... I can still smell that Vic-20.

in the 1980s I had a hand-me down Tandy. Was never able to get it running though and I'm not even sure what the specs were. My first real computer that I bought was a 386. It was state of the art when I bought her.

Gus, the children will never know the joy of leaving behind the TRS-80's cassette drive and having a 1541 spool up an actual WORD PROCESSOR in mere minutes.

I can remember getting, "Might & Magic" for my Commodore 128 and then learning I had to have the disks 'formatted' in order to play on them, my own disks I mean. Nearest place to do that was about 45 miles away.  :o   But it was worth it!  The Intellivision was one of the first game consoles I guess but man did it have lots of great games to play.  :D  My first computer game was SSI's "Kampgruppe". My friends said this stuff was just a fad and will never go anywhere. Well who's laughing now Losers?  L:-)

^ Oh wow.

My dad had a VIC-20 and a cassette drive. That thing was a pain even when it worked perfectly. As it got well used over a few years it wore out and got slower and slower...so frustrating.
