I just received my C4 Chit Cutter and I'm not impressed.  It does cut about 10 chits at time but it's not the best cut.

Does anyone suggest another batch chit cutter?  I've got to start punching my Beyond Valor for ASL.  :(

Good luck with that. The job of punching BV seemed endless. I can't imagine clippings all those thousands of counters.

I've never heard of a batch cutter other than the C4. There's just no way that fiddling with a batch cutter could be faster than buzzing through them individually with a jig and clipper IMHO. I also like the nice beveled finish you tend to get on the edges when using a nail cutter.

This is my first time using BV and we are playing scenario 1 so I might just punch and clip as I go.  I'll stop by Walgreen's on the way in.  Is there a size of nail clipper that looks the best?

I'll save you all of that reading and summarize that I really like the results that I get from my 2mm cutter.  I didn't at fist, but that was before I practices using the thing.  I'd like to get a 3mm for the 5/8" and larger counters as well.

So I think I might have some time tomorrow to break out Lock n Load: Band of Heroes.  I've read the rule book thoroughly and will set up the examples of play tomorrow.  If everything makes sense from there I would like to try my hand at a solo scenario.  Any suggestions/recommendations on which scenario would be best to start with to help me learn the game?

I've been clipping a lot of counters recently and I now get 99% great corners from the radial cutter; it really puts a nice finish on the counters.


My 2nd choice would be the nail clipper.  I clipped many a counters with a nail clipper and had very good, though sometimes inconsistent results with it. 


I didn't care for the C4.  Cramps in fingers trying to hold stacks on that small sled and it cuts way too much off and with a straight angle.  The top of the stack gets it more than the bottom of the stack so it's very inconsistent with its cut.  It was a good idea and many folks like using it, but its not for me.

Always told myself I was never going to be one of those counter clipping types but having picked up the 2mm version a few weeks ago just to see how it work. Have to admin I'm now hooked. Started out testing on one of my smaller solitaire games, and they turned out great. Next I'll start on my ASL/SASL collection.

I have clipped ~50% of my wargames (nail clippers + CD case jig). Depending how careful I am while punching I find that some games don't need it, or do better with some cleaning up of the corners with a hobby knife. The 1/2 inch ASL counters for example are too small for clipping IMHO, although the majority of ASL players I know have done it, I've yet to see this done to my liking. In my experience, the bigger the counter the better suited they are for clipping. For example, new edition of Hornet Leader has extra thick 5/8 counters and are a thing of beauty when clipped.
