Field of Glory Empires MP Game New Thread.

Jason-If you want, I could start a six or seven player MP game of Empires,  using the large empires (Rome, Carthage, Antigonos, Lysimakos, Macedonia, Ptolemaios, Seleukos)  to minimize the odds of getting knocked out early.
   

Alternatively, and for something completely different, it is possible for a player to pick two or more sides.  We could get a seven player game, but you get to pick two non-major power countries separated by at least at least 1/3 of the map,  So, for example, you might pick Syracuse and Saba, or the Picts and Judea.  At the end of 30 turns, you have to pick which nation you will stay with for the rest of the game, and abandon the other nation.

I'm not unhappy with my pick! -- I just played foolishly, and I'm getting hammered for it.  O:-) As I should be.

When I play mp again, I'd want to be Saba and do it better.  8) But I'll wait until the game knocks me out, so that I can post-mortem my game more cleanly without mis-remembering what I did in one game compared to the other.

I'm curious how picking two or more sides works in mp, though. (Or even in sp...?)

When you set up the MP game, select "Hotseat".  That allows a player to pick as many sides as they want to.  If you were to do that, I recommend everyone agreeing to the sides via email or a forum, and password protecting the game.

The Qatabarian army packed up and went home for no clear reason after having punched through my pallisade. The mobile remnants of my army were on the way west to try to take a recent Qatabarian acquisition while I had some chance, but the two forces collided while each was leaving my home territory! -- in different directions! Apparently, code hasn't been included to factor vector effects. ;)

End result, I'm no longer besieged (for now), but my last mobile force was wiped out.

I'll be making some improvements for next turn, but whether I'll be able to do much with them remains to be seen...

Note: I still can't do the emergency levy (because my legacy is nowhere near what's needed); but wealthy citizens did contribute 50 gold to help out. :)

It may be your mortal enemies may not have been aware of the latest patch changes about the emergency levy and read my incorrect post in the nick of time 😉

Just played my turn and I see Gus finally got off the fence and rebelled alongside  Mauryan and Saka troops fighting the mighty Seleucid Empire.

It seems the Seleucids are rattled though as they have lost territory to the Saka in the North and got checked by the Mauryans at  least temporarily in one region in the East. Significantly they also took a decision at a cost of a lot of gold to raise a mercenary army so Jim as the Seleucid player may be feeling the pressure !

In more worrying news from Greece the Antigonids....already leading in Legacy have just stormed Athens....

There's a small bug in our game now: when the Maurya capital rapidly went back and forth in ownership last turn, the region ended up with two identical palaces.

I was hoping a re-reconquest would clear the bug, but what seems to have happened is one palace moved to the new Maurya capital, while one remains controlled by me at the old capital region. This palace is actually allowing me to build Silver Shields and Companions in India.

I think the best solution here is for me to disassemble this extra palace, so I'll begin that process next turn.

If the Saba can hold out for a while longer help may be on its way .....an Egyptian Royal Army is not far from you  now having been despatched to deal with some rebellious desert tribes the other side of the Gulf.....in exchange for an alliance and Saba agreeing to push North ultimately to assist v Judea Egypt will intervene.....

If you can hold a region on the coast we can sail directly into your territory.....
