It would be interesting to see the repercussions of this over a  hundred  years from now.

Well, they have nothing to eat, presumably, beyond whatever was sent with them; and no way to travel; so I'd say the repercussions of them being there in a hundred years are likely to be nothing beyond "Hey most of these things are dead and the others are still hibernating."
