Thanks!

Yes I've seen that post. We are concerned that it seems there are no visibility about our new game, several players have told me this.

As Joe said in the other post, Battles For Spain is done under license of Wars Across the World. We have introduced some changes to adapt the game and a complete new interface, sounds, music and a lot of time improving the behaviour of the AI, at the point of including one Ebro scenario only for the Republican AI.
This game has no relation with España:1936, just me as designer.

It pretends to be a more easy and fast to play game and our intention was to bring to live these niche battles for our public.

thanks for stopping by.  i know pricing discussions are subjective and developers entitled to sell at any price they want, but regardless if good game or interesting topic, the reason i haven't purchased and won't purchase is the price itself.  although i know this is stand alone from war across world, it certainly is based on it and very similar.  when you buy that game you get the core plus 10 scenarios for only $10.  just hard for me to imagine this content is three times better.

again your completely entitled to your own pricing strategy but just wanted to give you at least my reason for not jumping in.  completely realize other customers might not have an issue but it could be a partial reason as to why not talked about a lot.  i do appreciate the fact you have chosen to pursue less known battles though.  and if you asked me what price i would have bought, probably the same price that war across the worlds cost.

I understand your point of view, but I dont understand how WaW is making business.

Just think now from developers point of view.

10$ is 9€, Steam takes its a 30% of that, so around 6,3€ will be the final profit for developer.
Lets say we sell 1000 units (this is a huge amount for a Spanish Civil War game), that leaves around 6300€. But we have to pay the license and a programmer, music, graphics,.... and all of this for a project that takes around 2 months each scenario plus testing and other tasks, minimum 9 months of work. With 10$ developer loses money.

Grim.Reaper

Can't answer that question, but from a consumer point of view that is only comparison we have.  Although I understand your need to make money, can't rely on consumers to just buy for support if not a price they feel is right or comparable to other things.

Again, just my perspective and not asking you to change, just saying why I won't personally be buying

Thanks for posting and welcome.

If this game is a good one, you will build a following. You will get more sales for your second game, and a small percentage of people that buy your second game will go back and buy your first game.

That's how it works, and that is how I have about $300 worth of Crusader Kings II. Build a good product, and let the marketplace bring you success.

We are in another League, cannot compare our games with CKII .... yet  8)

Thanks for posting.

The Spanish Civil War game is on my wishlist.  I'll buy it eventually.

Thanks for posting, HQ.  I picked up Battles for Spain right after release due to my interest in the subject.  I haven't spent much time with it but it seems like a strong offering.  O0  I dig the engine and I'm interested in any other games you guy are working on.
I was waiting for a mission, and for my sins, they gave me one.

I am trying to find the Rules for Battles For Spain so I can download them on my tablet for easier reading.

I have the game on Steam, but seemingly cannot find the rules outside of reading them on my computer monitor which is less than convenient.

Can someone give me the file address to find the rules?
