Steve could always change the title of the thread to "General Steam Sale Madness" or whatever.

Weekend sale: Game of Thrones: Genesis and Game of Thrones RPG bundle for $17.50.

I'm going to jump on this.  I've been waiting on the RPG to go on sale for a reasonable price for a while now.  Individually it's 50% off at $25, or you can get it bundled with the Genesis RTS for almost $10 LESS than getting it individually.  This seems like a safe bet for me.

Both games got pretty hammered in the reviews, but for the price I'll probably enjoy them well enough.

^i saw this sale too and was very tempted.  Even though it received pretty consistently negative commercial reviews across the board, I have heard the occasional positive remark about the RPG.  Let us know what you think.  I've managed to hold out so far.

I grabbed the Sherlock Holmes pack even though I already own/owned all but the first two titles.

OK, this is not a Steam deal, but its still a great deal (if they get more codes).  I also posted this in LBs Amazon Games link, so apologies in advance if that violates protocol.  I think most (if not all) of these activate on Steam.

Amazon has the Absolutely Great Square Pack -- for $9.99 this week.

Absolutely Great Square Pack includes the following games:

  • Deus Ex: Human Revolution - Augmented Edition
  • Deus Ex: Human Revolution - The Missing Link DLC
  • Hitman: Blood Money
  • Just Cause
  • Just Cause 2
  • Supreme Commander 2
  • The Last Remnant
  • Quantum Conundrum

Looks like they are currently out of codes, but this is their big deal-of-the-week though, so it should be back (hopefully).

Looks like the deal is back....

I like them but I'm a fan of point-and-click adventure games and Sherlock Holmes.  They're translated from French so sometimes the dialogue is a little stilted and the voice acting isn't always the best but I like the stories and the puzzles.

Here's a quick look video from the latest game.  They all look and play almost the same so it will give you an idea if it's for you.

The Game of Thrones RPG is the only game I've done asked for a refund on from Steam.  I've bought plenty of games I didn't like, and chalk that up to it not being a bad game, but just different from my tastes. I bought SOTS2 when it came out and have hung on as Kerberos has issued patch after patch to fix the problems, because you could see the promise of the game.  The GoT RPG was simply unplayable.  I found it impossible to even get my character to move where I wanted him to go.  It was a real disappointment because i really like tactical party RPGs, but this one wasn't worth spending any money on at all.
