New free DLC for the incredible turn-based dungeon crawler Darkest Dungeon, this time adding a freakin' competitive multiplayer mode.   :o

This came out of nowhere to me and looks very cool.  Any groggies wanna fire up some multiplayer and go toe-to-toe?   :knuppel2:

I was waiting for a mission, and for my sins, they gave me one.

Might have to dive back in this.

I rage quit after spending hundreds of hours building a fully leveled team and curing their quirks. Got all the bosses down in the first dungeons only to lose them all to a terrible set of bad luck encounters in the main dungeon. The game is justifiably unforgiving

The game has made me rage quit and invent some new curse words, when its not sending me to my safe space to cry over another lost leveled up character.

Yeah, I feel you both.  It's been months since i've played for that very reason, but I just keep coming back and getting a little further each time.  In my latest playthrough, I've almost cleared the first 2 tiers of bosses, and I have a pretty strong team ready for the third tier, but as I'll say in the ancestor's voice...

This is one of the few games (actually, maybe the only one) where I never proceed into unknown content without checking a guide first.  The game is difficult enough without losing hours of progress just to learn what the game's gonna throw at me in the first place.

My problem is every time I jump back in I restart :idiot2:, I've only made it past the first boss.

I'd recommend upgrading the Caravan as soon as possible.  I usually go for the "more available heroes per turn" perk first before expanding the hero cap.  In the early game, take every hero that's available every week until you reach your cap, then start tossing out dudes with bad traits or redundant classes when better units become available.

Also, I think it's pretty reasonable to restart multiple times within the first couple weeks due to losing a single hero or simply getting unlucky with the RNG on the caravan.  With the un-upgraded caravan, you only get something like 2 per week, which can leave you with a gimped party if you get doubles on one of the early weeks.

Ugh..I remember the worst party wipe and it was a boss fight.

I have yet to play that through. One day.
