Sounds good with existing customers getting steam keys.

Good way to fix my install of CMSF2 which is probably dead from hardware changes again. Just move it to steam.

As a slight correction from something said earlier: not every Matrix/litherine game gets a Steam code. Only the games they co-release on Steam. Thus two-(and-a-half) related categories of exceptions:

1.) Games previously released on Matrix/Slitherine which they will never port to Steam for various reasons (for example the Hornet Leader adaptation).

2.) New games not released to Steam which may or may not ever get a Steam release, but which will then get a Steam code when-if-ever released there.

2.5.) Games previously not released to Steam which eventually got a Steam code -- of course they didn't have Steam codes until then, and of course if you own such a game but don't realize yet it has a Steam edition you won't have a Steam code for it yet.

CMSF2's Steam release has now been delayed till next week. Apparently it's still stuck in the approval queue so they don't want to risk it not showing up on time.

Very odd that Matrix choose not to publicly acknowledge the delay on any of the platforms such as Steam, their forum, or main store site.  Unless I am just missing it somewhere, besides these third party sites like Wargamer saying it......not saying it isn't true, just seems like better communications could have been done by the company.

FWIW it's up on the Steam page now. Might have been dragging their feet a bit. When we put our story up though I'd received the email literally about ten minutes before, so if the first thing they decided to do was to tell some press partners there wasn't much time to do anything before I went live with my story.

Well, Matrix is a typical wargame shop. Their small developers are messy and on the other hand the customers are used to it. Just go with the flow :)

(Nothing against Matrix)

Got popcorn and beer in for the Steve meets Steam Trolls show.

Part of their agreement might have been he never is required to go to the Steam forums.   :2funny:

Sir Slash

That would be a good deal if you can get it.  ;D

Picture any troll scene. Say trolls, ranting over invisible aircraft.
And Steve's red mist rising. The longer he holds back of the Steam forum, the more Steve-Steam will build up. Finite pressure cooker.

Con

Well some of the pressure will be escaping due to the drm emergency relief valve being converted to Steam (see what I did there)  ^-^

Pretty sure I saw Steve post that he will never visit the Steam forums....too busy.

It is kind of funny that it seems just about every Battlefront release seems to be met with some kind of delay, whether their fault or not:)

Hopefully Steam won't let them just continually update release dates to push back upcoming games/DLC every month that it fails to meet their self-imposed deadline.   :-"
I was waiting for a mission, and for my sins, they gave me one.

I don't remember him saying one way or the other but, unofficially, I would be shocked if he ever posts there. He may check it out to see the initial reactions. And even that is a hard may. For that matter, I'm not sure how much I'll be poking my head around there. All things Steam are pretty much Slitherine/Matrix. That isn't to say we haven't had a ton of input in how things go there. Just the "hands on" Steam stuff we haven't touched.

Tell me about it. It was the first thing I thought when I heard about it. I cursed a lot...not because it was going to be delayed a week but because I could picture the comments before they were written...........
