It's all theoretical of course, so none of this has been proven through experiments or people actually doing this.

well, proven every time you successfully use a GPS for navigation  ;)

there are two effects, the atomic clock in the GPS satellite ticks slower because its moving fast in the orbit, but also faster because the clock is farer out of the gravity field of the planet then the clock on the surface

in summation this has to be taken into account or would lead to an offset in the position calculation of up to 11km per day , and adding up each day

I wonder if we spotted them here that we should not have already spotted them in space if they were from space. Otherwise possibly just sensor illusions. We might just have discovered some sort of natural heat bloom or light source. Made me think of Tesla's magnetic drives though.

Maybe they know we are gearing up to go to MARS!

Hollow earth?
Naaaaaah.

I'm of the opinion that this planet is in a somewhat ghetto part of the galaxy.
if you land here your gonna get your shit stolen!
Jarhead - Yeah. You're probably right.

Gus - I use sweatpants with flannel shorts to soak up my crotch sweat.

Banzai Cat - There is no "partial credit" in grammar. Like anal sex. It's either in, or it's not.

Mirth - We learned long ago that they key isn't to outrun Star, it's to outrun Gus.

Martok - I don't know if it's possible to have an "anti-boner"...but I now have one.

Gus - Celery is vile and has no reason to exist. Like underwear on Star.

I still cannot think of a reasonable excuse for hiding UFOs existence from the public. The hysteria argument is just hysterically laughable. I can see that we may want to hide from aliens just how much we may have learned from their stuff, but that is irrelevant to publicly discussing their existence. I mean, the aliens know that they are here and they know that we know they are here, so.....It further convinces me that the whole UFO thing has been managed by truly second rate or third rate minds. THAT truly terrifies me. We need our best on this. We obviously do not and now they are scrambling to cover their asses.

If UFOs exist at all....

I go with Occam's razor.  This is being used as a distraction to keep the masses enthralled while the powers-that-be engage in nefarious schemes that'd they'd prefer we didn't know about until after the fact.

Hmmmm...you mean like the CIA scheme to promote vanilla ice cream over the obviously superior chocolate ice cream?

You know too much...

It helps that the CIA discovered vanilla arouses women.

Whether they learned this from the aliens or not remains to be disclosed.

More seriously, a lot of the info-dump yesterday has connection to the "Skinwalker Ranch" trail of study which developed since the late 90s into the multi-departmental Department of Defense program currently running (ARRO, I think it currently is, but it gets renamed every once in a while).

My loose report of the main set of books reporting on those studies up to about the present year. https://www.grogheads.com/forums/index.php?topic=27295.0

Hopefully the aliens aren't behind the rapid advancement of AI.  That would be ominous.

JasonPratt

I was going to joke that the advance of AI being behind the aliens would be even more ominous! -- but reports of that sort of thing far predate computer programming.

Even if our AI is all home-grown, could the Aliens co-opt it?

By all accounts (no doubt at least some fictional) they can communicate with us; and if they can do that, they can work out how our AIs work; and if they can do that, they can co-opt our AIs.

Note that this would also be true if the aliens are in effect demons and/or vice versa. (For which there is some evidence not normally reported to Congress by the same people reporting to Congress.) There's a fun thought.

I've been waiting for other people to digest the released data, rather than getting into it myself as I have other things to do with my life. Though that might end up involving evangelizing aliens, lol! (Even if they turn out to be demons.)

Meanwhile, the info dump tranching has been kind of amusing. A significant amount was already debunked before the release like the now-infamous black-star gun camera footage explained as a rare refraction lens error in lock-on mode; or just looks ridiculous like a report of cat-eared telepathic women being held at Area 51, or a manifesto against the Vietnam War supposedly produced by alien telepathy signals or something.

Seems like key-jangling. Maybe with an aim to discredit legitimate studies (however far those go) shoveled out along with the slop.

I've said before (in the prior linked thread), I think there're several levels of psy-op going on, who knows how many -- and I'm not even discounting actual non-human psy-op in the mix! There's a strong thread in large-scale 'ufology' studies that whatever the reality is, it's some kind of hostile psy-op with multiple targets and intentions at multiple levels.

This release is not going to help anything; it's only more trolling in various ways.
