I think it's the Depth of Field option.  I can't seem to get it to turn off from the settings menu.  I'll poke around tomorrow and see if there's somethin in an .ini or .cfg file that I can change in order to turn it off.

Haven't put a lot of time into it yet, but struggle a little with the UI and options.  Hated the very long intro/tutorial video that was forced the first time loading, couldn't find any way to skip it.  Luckily the next time playing didn't happen.  Still way early in the early access so I am hopeful and will be keeping up with it.

Yeah, this one needs a lot of work.

Probably going to let this one rest for a bit while development gets goes longer.

The devs posted an update on Steam today addressing a lot of the bugs, criticisms and problems and laying our sort of a roadmap.

Great, look forward to see what they have done.  Hoping at some point you can use the mouse more for scrolling the battlefield and such versus keyboard, unless I missed an option for it.

Not liking it so far. It's even far inferior to a total war game let alone a scourge of war game.

The whole movement system is unpredictable and clunky. You have no idea when an enemy unit will move and in what order and so it makes the battlefield hard to read and looks very disjointed time flow wise. Then you have the movement cutting corners of roads and all sorts of things... I have no idea how to keep my units quick marching on roads if they even do that?
I also have no idea how to allow my troops to fire on approaching enemy instead of just allowing themselves to be charged for no reply or how to retreat unit (or at least disengage) while in a fight.
It is really hard to know when you can do what in terms of orders like faceing, fire orders etc
Add to that that the whole thing is very hard to look at.
I am used to being spoiled by scourge of war waterloos order system.. which is clunky but has so many options.
If this was TRUE wego things would be markedly different I suspect.

I get that it is a small enthusiast crew. So it's a good effort to begin with. But that does not make it playable. This one is a bust out of the gate for me so far. Needs to be torn apart and rebuilt.

Played around with it a bit...  In general I am happy to see it here. But I agree it does still need some polishing. Giving commands is still too fiddly. Overall, it feels like Slitherine's "Sengoku-Jidai" somewhat...not a bad thing, but definitely putting the game in the "light" category.

I ended up refunding it.  The latest update killed it for me.  I couldn't even start a quick battle.  Hopefully they can get it patched up to a state where it's playable and then I'll probably pick it up.

Why would they release it in such a sorry state? Bizarre decision.

And isn't the main developer someone on YouTube that has played and reviewed a ton of strategy games?  I had thought coming from a gamer like that they would have understood the basics but really surprised by how far that might have missed the mark.  Still likely will keep for now and see how it plays out, but don't see me investing in any further dlc.

There are more than a few posts in the Discord and on the Steam page saying that some people get a black screen after booting up the game which corrupts things so badly they have to reinstall Win 10.  Surprised Steam allows the game to still be up if that's the case.

:hide: :timeout:  Holy crippity crap.
I was waiting for a mission, and for my sins, they gave me one.

Reading through the Discord a bit more, it looks like a lot of the posts are from the same guy using different login names.  Hopefully the issue is with his PC and not with the game.  Lots of others reporting the black screen lockup forcing them to reboot but not having to reinstall their OS.

Oh Lordy Lord...I uninstalled the base game. Will revisit...at some distant point in time  :buck2:

This is exactly why I don't purchase early access until I research reviews and see a steady flow of positive progress. I have such a backlog that I don't want to waste my time on Alpha/Beta releases. It goes on my wishlist so I remember to occasionally check on it. If everything looks positive and the price will jump after release, I will buy early access. If not, I'll wait until release. It's not like they will sell out and I won't get a copy until weeks later.
