Damn! Endfire is back? Well Hell, I'm glad I got up from my nap now. I can't remember, did we have a wake for him or not? Anyway, great to hear from you again Bro.  And just in time. Did I see in a video that at Character Creation you have 3-4 choices what penis your character has?    I guess you can really choose between Elf and, 'Half' Elf then.  Careful Endgame, those pretzels at the bar are left-over from last time you were here.

End-'FIRE'. Sorry. See what happens when you eat those pretzels.

The reports of my death have been greatly exaggerated!  Thanks, it's all good.  I've braved the character creation of Cyberpunk 2077.  How bad could it be?  You roll a d20 and expect a bastard sword, but you get 1 (pen knife).  It's not the size that counts, it's how you use it :)

I gotta catch up on D&D 5th edition - I'm still stuck in the AD&D 2, 3.5 way of thought and theory.  I've heard things have been simplified a lot more which sounds good.

Much as I'm enjoying the game for the story, skill checks, character stuff, etc -- I'm finding the combat extremely tedious.  I can't really put my finger on why except that the battle areas always feel very narrow and limited and full of choke points.  Not to any time you start a fight out of dialogue, your whole party is clumped way in the back with no chance to adjust them, and your leading guy is just taking a bunch of hits.  I've just started savescumming fights to get as many advantages as possible because otherwise I'm constantly running out of health/spells and having to rest up.

Great game overall, and maybe others feel differently.  I do enjoy the amount of options you have in combat, plus stealth and sneak-attacking people is satisfying.
I was waiting for a mission, and for my sins, they gave me one.

I was loving the game the first week I bought it, but I haven't played it in several days with no desire to jump back in. Nice game, but over hyped.

Sir Slash

Thanks guys. Holding-out for more opinions.

I'm having constant crashes. I'm putting it away until either it's in a better state or I have a better box, most likely the latter.

Before I quit, I was getting frustrated with combat. And a couple of hours in, I still didn't really know who I was or where I was.

It's sure snazzy and has a great turn-based interface, despite the camera limitations. I'm sure I'll give it another shot at some point, but at this point it's almost as if quitting because of crashes kept me from quitting from frustration and boredom.

It seems like the game needed at least a few more months in Early Access, maybe even another year. I'm reading the third act is fairly bare bones compared to the early sections which got a lot of love in Early Access. The ending is apparently fairly abrupt and doesn't actually acknowledge the choices you made as was promised pre release.  No "17,000 variations" or whatever crazy number they said.  I read a lot of this stuff was left on the cutting room floor, and presumably they plan to finish the ending and add all that stuff, but it's a bit odd that they removed the Early Access label if that's the case.

One of the things I have noticed as I get older and grumpier is that I think a lot of reviewers play games for maybe an hour tops. Late game issues, balance issues, bugs- they miss most of it. As long as a game is sufficiently whiz-bang to hold a millennial reviewers attention until they get distracted by the next TikTok video, it can get a near-perfect score even if the game has gaping issues with later content or stability. Not that this is a new issue, mind you- in hindsight if you go back and look at a lot of 90s gaming magazines I now frequently have cause to wonder if the reviewers actually played the game they were writing about in numerous instances.

Dude, "and" Yoda uses not.  Periods he uses.

Otherwise, your channeling of him gets an A+!     :martini:

Hello everyone,

Today we're releasing our first major patch for Baldur's Gate 3, addressing over 1000 bugs, balancing, flow issues and much, much more.

I want to add that so far I have spend around 36 hours in this game (I'm still in act 1) and haven't encountered crashes or any major bugs.

I am watching this intently with the idea to buy it in the PS5 when it launches. On the bugs crashes and contents I overwhelmingly hear only good things so was a bit surprised to hear your take on it. Still think it will be a day one buy for me.
I have gone completely to the dark side for all my non wargaming games I am firmly going console now.
Great graphics hooked to a 70 inch gaming tv with a comfortable couch in a Phillips hue smart light game cave
