Yeah, I use a WD sn850x 2 TB m.2 NVME, so quite comparable. My Windows install is also rather fresh.

More digging required.

Razbam conflict explanation. -ish. Supposed to have some inside info. Slow speaking, bit annoying.

Spud is hard to listen to.

There is really nothing new in this video. Everything he is discussing has been out in the public for a long time. I do tend to pay attention to anything that is deeper than, "ED don't pay...ED bad." It is obviously much more complicated than that.

Regardless, I still have hope that this can be resolved and Razbam can come back and finish their modules.

Nice video showcasing lethal use of hunter-killer tactics on the new Cold War Germany map. Also shows good use of the pilot AI in the Kiowa.

Coming back to DCS after many years away, it's great to see how far it's come from the Blackshark/A10/Caucasus+Nevada map only days.

A co-op PVE MP battlefield mission with buddy lazing study level AH-64/OH-58s, AI copilot, realistic looking maps like Syria and Germany, pretty darn cool. I'm sure for folks who never left DCS the bugs and missed promises probably stand out, but this is the kind of stuff we could only dream of with old sims like Jane's Apache Longbow.

Mig29a pre-order is up. 30% off this full fidelity opfor aircraft. Very rare to be able to do a full fidelity opfor aircraft. As I understand it, usually the Russian government blocks it. I think this would be a fun little module.
This and the new Berlin map would be cool, but given all the craziness around the mirage, harrier and f15e lately and the fact I already own too many modules i dunno. Then their is the fact it will be early access. Add to that the f15c coming.

Bought the cold war map and did some flying around. So far so good.

Need to make a couple missions around my hometown. See how accurate it is.

I know I've asked this before, but I'll ask again anyway because I forgot the answers.  Are any of these new maps good with the ground combat module (Combined Arms)?  The East Germany map sounds like it might be fun, but I'm not sure what the status of the CA module is, nor whether anyone even uses it anymore.  I don't have the ability to hook up my HOTAS right now, so flying is out.

Here's how Combined Arms can be used:

1. Direct Control: Players can take direct control of ground units, including tanks, vehicles, and infantry, allowing for first-person combat experiences.
2. Command and Control: Through the Command Map, players can issue orders to move ground forces, set up artillery fire missions, and manage the ground battle.
3. Multiplayer Integration: Combined Arms supports multiplayer gameplay, where different players can take on different roles, such as artillery commanders, tank commanders, pilots, or JTACs, allowing for a more coordinated and realistic battle experience.
4. Mission Integration: Combined Arms can be integrated into custom missions created in the DCS World Mission Editor.
5. Real-time Strategy: Players can use Combined Arms to play missions as a real-time strategy game, directing ground forces and managing the overall battle.
6. Air Support: Players can also direct the ground battle from the cockpit of a DCS aircraft, coordinating air support with ground forces.

As far as I know it works with every map, but you won't find much official content.
You will have to use the mission editor to create your own stuff.

Only 4 user made single missions are available but they might give you an idea for own creations.

Instead of going to ground for lacking HOTAS space, wouldn't it make more sense to get a small footprint, twist-rudder joystick?

Jarhead0331

I'm not as into the WWII stuff in DCS, but this was still an instant buy for me.

Looks great.  Ai zeros to shoot at.  Will be interesting to see how the Corsair performs on mp servers against German planes.  Greg's airplanes did an hour long YouTube on would the Corsair and hellcat be as unstoppable in Europe as they were in Asia, his answer was yes.

Redwolf

Just finished watching Black Sheep Squadron recently.

WW2 versions of the marinated map is also released (free).
