What's new in the U.S. news -boredom

Every morning when I wake up I check the news to see if all the world's major cities are still with us. After that, the rest of the news is the same, day after day. Networks/papers don't report much of a variety. If I want to get anything different, I have to check Reuters or some other foreign news service.

So, after a city check, I go get some toast.

Figures. I post this and we get a newsworthy event. Still, 24/7 coverage and commentary on a shooting? Aaaaarrrhhg!! Update us a couple times a day, but not continuously ALL DAY LONG!! Surely there is a watermelon contest or SOMETHING else to report on.

There's plenty of noteworthy things going on in the US, but nothing that would be permittable discussion on this board. And rightfully, IMO - I do prefer this board when it's focused on gaming and not stuff that pisses people (including me) off.

I have caught "cats" watching me twice.  Very uncomfortable, lol, but I was in or exiting a blind. Never exactly stalked like this guy, though. The queasy question is how many times did it happen that you did not know about and how big was the cat? We do have mountain lions ....and the rare bear.
