Along with Command Ops:BftB on the holiday sale Matrix list, I myself was wondering about the Combat Command game. Any of you fine chaps play this game? Personally, it looks more my style of wargaming...

It is a great old style board wargame. Some interesting mechanics and they have now sorted the withdrawal bug that was causing such problems. Seems a limited community supporting it but a very easy to use scenario editor. Graphics a bit bland and funtional but if you dont mind that its well worth in my view. I especially like the singapore scenario.

Just another day on the BF forum ... one demented idiots reaction to BF disagreeing about the thickness of the armour on a Tiger II turret mantlet.

^Thanks for the feedback. I thought I read over on the Matrix forums that there is a graphics mod included with one of the Combat Command updates that cleans up the terrain a bit. But I could be incorrect about that.

I likes it especially the editor but I am a wargame whore so not much of a judge.

Yes there is - but "bit" is the operative word ... doesnt make much difference personally - think they are limited to 8bit.

I think if you search Combat Command demo that you could still try the demo from when it was under Shrapnel Games.

I couldn't come with a demo but looks like I'll be pulling the trigger on this one for the price and having a decent longevity wargame on my netbook.

I saw a screenshot of the "bit" graphic mod. Lol. My expectations weren't too high anyway.
