It looks very much like HOMM4.

Maybe a little too much. :o

MetalDog

I never played HOMM 4.  For that matter, I've never played any of the HOMM.  The premise sounds good though.  I'll be looking forward to impressions.

Arctic Blast

Definitely looks interesting.

Nefaro

Oh, wait.  I'm thinking of HoMM3, I think.  Anyway, it looks a lot like it.   If it has more depth to it, then that can only be a good thing because I felt the HoMM series needed something more.

Like fallen ent. I'm disappointed I'm capable of saving the day with me and my friends from the pub! Change the sprites to goblin army instead goblin and I might be more immerssed, but my 8 friends v yours doesn't sound like the world is in that much danger

I played a bit more of the campaign, and the strategic layer reminds me more of the TW series than HoMM. The only thing I dislike is the cheesy combat animations, but I'm sure that will be fixed for the new version.

I just don't understand you guys' hang-ups on troop scaling.  It's been done in every medium, especially much-vaunted tabletop wargames.   Does it really make a big purchasing difference if something has, for example, a 5-to-1 or 10-to-1 troop to model ratio in the graphics display?  AFAIK, it's very rare for games portraying armies to display them on a 1 for 1 basis.

Or does each 'soldier' in this game have his own equipment and other individualities?

Interesting game indeed. Never heard about it before.
Will Master of the Broken World be an actual upgraded version of this or is it a new game with different gameplay mechanics?
Eador seems deep. I am looking forward to reading more impressions from you guys.

However, if pilots would need to do daily what they are capable of doing, nobody would dare to fly anymore."

Can someone please tell me the difference between guards and garrison?

i dont think theres any abstraction though - it literally is my giant, my scout, my eagle, my wizard versus what ever motley crew the AI has pulled together - does that sound like we're battling to save the broken worlds of wherever, it just isnt GRAND enough!!  :)

LOL!  Well.. not so much in that case, but it's not the first to have such a story, either.   That's practically every RPG ever made!  And some strategy ones to boot! ;D

So far I have had no problem running Eador: Genesis on my 64-bit Windows 7 PC. The game is much deeper than Heroes of Might and Magic III and Warlock: Master of the Arcane, although it has elements in common with both of those games. The easiest way into Eador: Genesis is to do the campaign, which includes a tutorial. Otherwise the learning curve will be a bit much.
Regardless of how good a PC game may be it will always have its detractors and no matter how bad a PC game may be it will always have its fans.

My only problem with the small number of units is that apparently they can only be produced in your capitol, which means that with only one hero (at least in the early campaign), you've got to do a lot of shlepping back and forth to replace any lost in battle.
