LOL.  Someone needs to move the wing in closer to the hull, in that last shot.  :D

Pretty cool how you can customize the look of your space fighters in E:M.  But such open spaces can easily go unnoticed unless you spin the 3D model around a bit and make adjustments.

Yeah!   :-[  I didn't notice that until I posted that last screenie too.   :) I like to think the wings are held in place by transparent aluminum.   ;D

Lemme guess: The ship is piloted by highly evolved Humpback whales...  :D

He'll have to bring them back from the past.

I'm REALLY impressed with the expansion, it could easily have been called Evochron Mercenaries 2.  Even combat has improved.  It used to be fighting tiny specs with shield flares but now everything seems more proportional.

If I buy from Steam, will I get the new updated version ?

Thanks for the extensive writeup, Rooks. :)

I think I might have to dive into this. I even saw one can run a dedicated server for it! How cool would a Grog DS be for this?

Has anyone tried to play this with a gamepad? Just curious.

I had my joystick setup on it at one point.  Did fine.

While I don't have a gamepad at the moment, I'm pretty sure it supports them.  I've never been comfortable with flight simming on a gamepad, though.  :o

Went ahead and picked it up. Haven't played around too much but I like the flight physics. Wish there was some background on the lore.

I have a joystick, but for some reason a few games freak out if it is plugged in (even when they don't support the stick). It is a standard Logitech, but I haven't been able to fix the issue.

Is that the issue where you're constantly moving to the left (or right)?

I've seen that before in a couple games, too.  For ones that didn't even have joystick support.  I suppose they probably had Gamepad support and thought it was one of those.

^ Yes, that is the issue. I wonder if it is a Logitech only problem?

Probably.  I just gotta the cheapy one since I don't use it often.

Huw the Poo

It's also a Saitek problem.  The solution is every time you boot into Windows you have to move the stick to its limits in each direction (I usually just do a couple of complete circles with it).  I guess this calibrates it, but whatever the case, I don't get the drift to left/right any more.
