I wonder why Rep. Issa hasn't placed Holder in contempt yet?

Attorney General Eric Holder on Tuesday stopped short of saying he would have eliminated Operation Fast and Furious if he had been made aware of the failed gun-tracking operation before it was put in place.

Holder told lawmakers at a subpanel hearing that Fast and Furious was "fundamentally flawed," but the nation's top cop emphasized that "aggressive" and "creative" tactics must be used if the United States has any hope of stopping the flow of weapons to Mexico.

I'm sure he's keeping his powder dry. I don't think we've seen the worst of this scandal yet.

Since I've given up discussing politics, I'm going to have to discuss journalism. As in... where do they find these writers?!

Top cop? Is this a reference to Holder? I thought the Attorney General was the top... uh... Attorney? He doesn't execute laws does he, only prosecutes them? Someone explain this to me, because I don't get the designation here.

What does this paragraph mean? Issa wants the "documents used to draft a letter to Congress?" Like the papers used to write a letter? Does this mean rough drafts of the letter? And what is up with all those tense changes?

Don't get me started on that journalist's over use of the helper verb "has/had/have" and the imperfect tense (in all sorts of a mix of future-imperfect, subjunctive-imperfect).

Seriously... I'm sort of astonished. Is this an actual newspaper? Or is The Hill a submission-based periodical like the Huffington Post? Did this person get paid to write that article? You better clean it up before Brant sees this!
