I am reluctantly a Facebook user.  It seems the only way to communicate with mankind these days...  Anyhow, the other day I discovered a Facebook page that makes it actually enjoyable to login:

https://www.facebook.com/THEIOWASISTERS

Every couple of days I'm greeted with some amazing pictures, most of which I've never seen before.  I figured I'd share this to others who, like me, are forced to use The Facebook.  :)

Great find. There are some excellent pics.

ya Im pimping that page on FB.
great find.
Jarhead - Yeah. You're probably right.

Gus - I use sweatpants with flannel shorts to soak up my crotch sweat.

Banzai Cat - There is no "partial credit" in grammar. Like anal sex. It's either in, or it's not.

Mirth - We learned long ago that they key isn't to outrun Star, it's to outrun Gus.

Martok - I don't know if it's possible to have an "anti-boner"...but I now have one.

Gus - Celery is vile and has no reason to exist. Like underwear on Star.

I just got back from a two week cruise to Hawaii.  I saw the Iowa in Los Angeles and the Missouri at Pearl Harbor.

I have no idea which is in better shape.  The Missouri looked nicer to a layperson.

Back in the 70s, when they were still in mothballs, three of the Iowas were at the Philadelphia naval shipyard.
They were moored togehter and it was quite a sight.
One of the bridges into Philly goes over the river just south of the Yard, and has a very high elevation.  When driving north into Philly over that bridge, it was a real surprise to crest the bridge, and suddenly there were these three behemoths right in front of you.

Hey Republic, went looking for this thread on Facebook and got nothing.  Take it this is a dead end?

I was wondering why I was nolonger seeing pictures, I guess they took it down.  I had noticed they had started posting political statements rather than Battleship photos...maybe they decided to do something different.
