A single game for a desert isle

We have discussed at various times what ONE game you would take with you on a desert isle.

I just experienced this.  We went on a 15 day cruise with 10 sea days.  I took my laptop.  I played only one game - Dominions 3.  Worked great on a oldish laptop.  I probably played it 40+ hours total.  I had a couple of other games, but never fired them up.

I played multiple games of Dominions 3 using two different "civilizations."

Regardless of how good a PC game may be it will always have its detractors and no matter how bad a PC game may be it will always have its fans.

Imperialism II.
On a side note, it sounds like I really need to try Dominions 3. (I bought it on sale a a few months ago!)

This may sound heretical, but I'm not sure I would take an electronic game. I burn out on them much too quickly.

I would love to have Dominions 3.

For myself, the one game I've probably played more than any other is Sins of a Solar Empire so that would be a strong contender.  Or maybe some other strategy game like Age of Wonders: Shadow Magic.

Age of Wonders is a nice game. Been tempted a few times to pick it up, plus the 2 expansions, from Steam. Its quite cheap for the package.

Yes, but it doesn't have the 'phone home' DRM of Desert Island Escape Simulator 2013. Good when the nearest wifi is in a different time zone.

There once was a time where I could have easily answered this question.  I would have chosen either Civ III Conquest or Romance of the Three Kingdoms X.

In my middle age however, I can't seem to be able to answer that question anymore.  With all of the games out there today, I can't really find one that I can say is my go to game that I would never get bored of ever.  So I guess if I were to be stuck on a deserted island with only one game that game would be nothing.  I would wish that Mary Anne would be there though.  Never did care for Ginger.
