Gaming's Permanently-Connected Future?

electric cars are just another crap idea promulgated by the same limited view "futurist" that wrote this article.

So what is "limited view"?  I genuinely would like to know, because the quote in the OP seems to be embracing quite a large idea.

I refer to Andrew Wilson's view rather than that of the OP - looking at my post it is worded badly.
Unsurprising I guess that an EA exec's worldview would be that everyone's life would revolve around gaming & IMO faintly ridiculous - some post "mental-apocalypse" where we're all mindless automatons focussed on low level gaming & trivia. I'd see no good reason why gaming shouldn't remain gaming & real life remain real life, interconnectivity doesn't (IMO) imply some overarching corresponding connectivity between our lives different aspects. My problem with it isn't that it won't be possible, but why would it be desirable?
As with his music analogy he notes similarities in technical delivery & transposes these, erroneously IMO, into some deeper lifestyle choice.
My "limited view" comment refers to the restricted prism through which a person, immersed in the video gaming industry, perceives the world. IMO they become fairly blinkered & believe everyone subscribes to their view, and that what they work on is also everyone else's focus. I suspect most people play a game, then finish playing & move on to something else - wife, kids, partner, TV, debt, work, friends, car etc etc etc... & really don't give a hoot about the game until they happen to have a spare hour at the PC/console again. that's what I was suggesting by his limited view.
