Back to he good ol' days looks like.

You mean the President doesn't have his head buried in a hole and is making some proactive moves.  Or maybe he doesn't know about it.

Does the Corps cover Scandinavia, and the Army cover the continent?  I ask because my reserve regiment once (in war games) went up against USMC reservists, in Norway, in the winter.  I wasn't there, but I'm told that those poor bastards really didn't like the snow and cold- whereas our guys were acclimatized to it.

Uh oh now you've done it...prepare for incoming response from USMC...

yes Cent.  during the Cold War the Marines were tasked to play in Norway.  shriveling their peckers in Arctic water just makes em meaner.
Jarhead - Yeah. You're probably right.

Gus - I use sweatpants with flannel shorts to soak up my crotch sweat.

Banzai Cat - There is no "partial credit" in grammar. Like anal sex. It's either in, or it's not.

Mirth - We learned long ago that they key isn't to outrun Star, it's to outrun Gus.

Martok - I don't know if it's possible to have an "anti-boner"...but I now have one.

Gus - Celery is vile and has no reason to exist. Like underwear on Star.

And uglier.  If that's possible.

^That's right smack in the middle of our own Gunny's time in, IIRC. He was probably shaving away a tobaggen path on someone.

Yeah, but these guys were USMC reservists from Boston or NYC.  Smuck was a full-time jarhead.

Considering how much of Scandanavia is jagged coastline, the Marines make sense as the Corps being divisioned there. Or brigaded or regimented or whatever (as leading elements for a division.)

Agreed. I am curious to know if the US military has a division of "boots on the ground" labour in Europe, meaning assigned regions for the ground forces of the Navy & the Army.  Makes perfect sense.

Many planes. Are they trying t get us complacent about these bomber flights?

Nah. They're just being nice about telling us how many missiles to buy before we start shooting them out of the sky.

QuoteIn the biggest exercise, four Tupolev Tu-95 strategic bombers, a Cold War icon since the 1950s equivalent to the U.S. B-52, flew out over the Norwegian Sea in the early hours of Wednesday, accompanied by four refueling tanker aircraft.

4 Bears and 4 tankers? Wow. We can't repel firepower of that magnitude  ::)
