In hindsight, Bush Sr. was of course much better than his son. Though at the time I saw Sr.'s ascendancy to the Oval Office more of a product of Reagan's coattails than any skill Sr. had. I was young and relatively dumb. Now, I'd gladly trade Obama for Bush Sr.

As for Smuck, no doubt the prospect of either Bush would make his head explode Scanners-style.

No, that's long been my opinion as well, and it still is.  Doesn't mean he wasn't fit for the job -- I believe he was -- but I do agree that was more-or-less how he got elected. 

Now, I'd gladly trade Obama for Bush Sr.

On that, I suspect just about everyone here would agree.

Kinda looks like Warsaw Pact 2.0, though Kazakhstan has apparently stated they have no interest in a union with Russia. I guess they haven't been paying attention to the Ukraine this year.
