Anyone have or have seen the Vassal module of DVG's Field Commander Napoleon?  I have consider picking it up, but wanted so see if anyone has used it.

Thanks,

Have it.  But have not yet tried it.  Or the printed game for that matter.

Good reviews on the game and I am tempted to just drop the cash on the Vassal Module as I did the same for Thunderbolt Apache Leader.... and was done well.  The reviews for FC:N have been pretty glowing since it's release and I have had it on my list.... need my Napoleonics fix!

Vassal module is very well done and I have to say the game is surprisingly excellent.  I have Field Commander Rommel and felt it was a little light on the combat  and more heavily on the supply and logistics end... and probably rightly so as that was one of Rommel's primary enemies....

I was a little unsure how the FC:N battle and strategic mechanics would work and to be honest I was more concerned about the battles just being counters pushed along the board roll strength and eliminate -> (Wrong).  The system is excellent and the flow of tactical battle feels very natural and refreshing.  It is exciting to see how certain battle plans can swing the momentum of a battle in your favor or an un-calculated defeat.  Looking over the campaign board I thought that there would not be enough strategic depth to the game, and I was wrong again.... this may be my favorite DVG game thus far, even over my precious Leader series....

If Field Commander Nimitz is nearly as engaging as this, I should give Dan my CC now a WW2 version of this system would be too good to pass up....  O0  As a matter of fact, I think I will pre-purchase the game!

I still haven't punched & played my copy of FC: Alexander.  I hear that FC: Napoleon is currently the best of the bunch, though.   And your posts don't dispute that.  :)
