A little background on the the possible reason preponderance of French nationals among the foreign fighters in ISIL:

It sounds like France is fast approaching a civil tipping point as far as the battle of French law vs Sharia law. No wonder so many radicalized French Muslims are so eager to hone their organizational battle skills. They may be facing the National Gendarmerie in the near future.

One wonders if the French gov't will eventually bring home some units of the Légion étrangère for any heavy 'police work' involving MOUT so as to keep the regular army and National Gendarmerie out of any truly rough action so the latter two can continue to operate with less resulting controversy. Also, the regular army has a large number of Muslim soldiers so the French gov't may worry about some of those soldiers being willing to act against co-religionists.

Yeah, very disturbing.  If France implodes, NATO may be pre-occupied enough so that Putin can push into the Baltic without a NATO military response.

France is not going to implode. It has more Muslims than other countries in Europe, so proportionally its not that much of a difference. No need to panic.

off the top of my head I'll say that those numbers are a bit wrong.
the Hellfire doesnt cost that much these days and an F-22 is more expensive per flight hour then a B-1.

I dont know why everyone wants to pretend Carter was a wuss, he put his life on the line with no problem in the navy. He can say he did his duty. How many of these other guys, whose main claim to fame was looking good on camera, can claim the same thing?
