I'm done with buying into Early Access games that will still be in development for a long time.

Me too.  I've been burned a few times now and I've learned my lesson - only buy finished games.  The worst example, for me, is Starbound.  With all the hype for the game and the devs' awesome progress updates page I couldn't buy it fast enough when it entered early access, but after a few quick updates (each of which wiped my characters) there's been nothing for months.  The developers are still engaging with the community (mostly to just ban people complaining about the slow progress) but there's no evidence they're coding anything.  Really disappointing.

The original Wasteland was one of my first computer games when I was around 13. I would rearrange my back catalogue queue to play the second if its worth it.

Wasteland 2 won't be finished anytime soon.  I believe that's what Jarhead was alluding to. 

I want to pick it up sometime too, but not until it's very close to release.  I'm done with buying into Early Access games that will still be in development for a long time.  I end up playing the Alpha/Beta very briefly, then drop it because it's not feature complete and I don't want to spoil anything.  May as well save the cash or spend it on something else in the meantime.

I believe they said the current "estimated release date" to be August.
But who knows how many times it will get postponed between now and August :P

Geez, guys, I can't think of a single good reason to NOT buy Skyrim with all the bells and whistles.  With all of the mods out there you can get hundreds of hours of gameplay out of Skyrim.  Heck, I played through it twice and then I bought it for my son, and he's constantly telling me of quests he's doing that I haven't seen in two playthroughs!

I have a question about the Skyrim DLC.....if I start a base game of Skyrim (without purchasing the DLC)...can you add the DLC later and they will appear within you current game, without you having to start over a new game?  Or will you need to start a new game to expose the installed DLC?

Earlier than I expected, then.  That could be good or bad, but I'll leave that judgement for when it's finished and I've tried it.  :)

I stopped actively checking proposed release dates for games quite awhile back.  If it's plastered somewhere up front and in my face, then I'll just look it up after that date.  With Early Access, it's not much of a big deal anymore since development usually continues afterward anyway.  It's just more sensible to wait and purchase at that time, the main concern regarding complete content which many Early Acess titles don't have.

So far I have only picked up 'the Stanley Parable'. Why? Damifino. Just looks different enough to be worth a few hours for $6.

It could be just me, but has been very easy to resist for the most part...really hasn't been anything that great on sale or for any price I couldn't have picked up in some other sale.  There are a few dlc type stuff I'll likely pick up before the end of the sale, but I guess I had higher expectations of being tempted to purchase something:)

Or maybe finally my impulse buying has come to an end :)

Personally I'm waiting for CKII and OOTP 15 to come down a little more.  If that doesn't happen then, like Grim, I'll have resisted the Summer Sale.

Personally I'm waiting for CKII and OOTP 15 to come down a little more.  If that doesn't happen then, like Grim, I'll have resisted the Summer Sale.

OOTP 15 25% off now....but I think typically around the all star game or end of july, it starts to get down to 50%....I pre-ordered the game and haven't played a single game yet:(  I always like to wait until all the patches stop coming out...which if I was smart, I would wait until August to pick it up each year....

I always have good intentions and get sucked up in the hype:)  It really is a game that I should love, but without fail there are always patches and patches after release, which for most games I don't care.  But when playing a career sim where it takes a ton of time to setup and play, I hate getting into the middle of it only to find out something was tweaked that changes the game.  I know the save games are still compatible, but if they change something that doesn't apply to the rest of my career, it makes me go crazy:)

Maybe next year I will show more restraint:)
