As I understand it there are multiple lists.

In Hayes' case the airlines told him.

In most cases I don't think you ever know. It's a real star chamber...staffed by government bureaucrats.

Nothing could go wrong there.

Mr. Hayes had a short interview on WLS radio this morning.  He said he thought he might have gotten on the terrorist watch list because he had gotten a one way airline ticket to Turkey within the last couple of months.  He did talk to the TSA and asked how he could get off the list.  I think (if I am remembering the interview correctly) they told him to go to their website and fill out some forms and submit them.  He filled out the forms, but at end the form it said he needed to submit his passport to them.  At the time of the radio interview he did not know if he needed to mail his passport in or take it into a TSA office along with his forms.

I heard that story, too. Funny how the process breaks at the end.

That number is likely conservative.

Probably the whole world is on the list. It's the excuse for taking everyone's data.

The problem is the bigger the data set, the more confused it gets. I'm still waiting to hear the first example of success from all these programs. Best I can tell, all it does is undermine the Constitution and bankrupt the nation.
