In Country made an big announcement yesterday. Sounds like it's someway out from release, but definitely on my watch list:

QuoteIn Country Vietnam and Unreal Engine 4

Today is a big day for In Country:Vietnam as we announce our transition to a full-fledged independent title.

We would like to thank Tripwire Interactive and our past contributors for their hard work and support during the development of the modification. We would also like to thank those of you who have been loyally following the project over the last few years.

We can assure everyone that this decision was not made lightly, but was made unanimously and as development progressed we were able to thoroughly weigh up all of our options.

Moving Forward

We decided to choose Unreal Engine 4 for the future of In Country: Vietnam because it allows us to hit the ground running. With full access to the engine's source code, as well as the terrific Blueprint scripting system, it is possible for us to prototype and design levels right away, whilst our coders implement the game's core mechanics.

We view this is an opportunity to flesh out our gameplay and realism features from the bottom up, and a move to a standalone title is our best path forward in making the definitive, Vietnam First Person Shooter.

What the Future Holds

As we look to the future, we may explore avenues to fund further development and expand upon our ambitious goals. We are assembling the perfect team to make that happen. Expect more in depth coverage once we know the exact route we'll take.

Yeah, I haven't done any kickstarter spends, but decent 'Nam FPS would change that.

Thanks for posting...another title I am really interested in.

Problem with splitting with Tripwire is the that you are not sure if they will keep to the Red Orchestra Rising Storm feel and gameplay which I like a lot.

All development screen shots and videos are now worthless.

Great news, never thought this would evolve to Stand Alone product, definitely supporting it! O0

I loved RO too. Was my go-to for quick action (giving H&G a run now). But think it could be improved upon, and maybe these guys can do it.

I'd like to amend my initial post. I'll support it during development if it will have a single player component of some kind. Campaign, skirmish with semi-intelligent bots, etc. if it's MP only, not nearly as interested.

You don't play MP?

Would ask you what that one was like, but guess "you had to be there".
