id love to, im on my work laptop and if i try and start the game it says its currently open on another PC - which would be my switched off home PC, it then asks if id like to close that instance and open it on my laptop, on clicking yes it sits and stares at me (or has been doing for 2 hours, with 0% in the making this game work box)

undercovergeek

Have I mentioned how much I love this AAR and this game recently?

:smitten:
Seconded.  I'm starting to become seriously tempted to reinstall my copy and fire this baby up again.

And the British have taken Dakar!

In North Africa the Ottoman's have ventured into Tunisia. Hopefully my forces can move fast enough to take them out.

And the British have taken Dakar!

That escalated quickly. Though to be fair, you didn't have nearly enough dakka to protect Dakar from 14.5K troops and 32 cannons. Yeesh.

Every time I look at a screenie I see little art flourishes I hadn't noticed before. Rain in the veldt this time, but the graphic looks like newspaper woodcutting art. squee...

God damned Khivans!

The Tsar himself led the Russian forces against the Emir of Khiva and was able to retake the depot on the banks of the Caspian.  We suffered ridiculously heavy losses and the Khivans somehow managed to retreat in good order.  (stupid game.  Every single one of my units was hit with the "bad luck" and/or cowardice result during the fight while almost every Khivan unit got the "you did awesome and inflicted heavy casualties medal.)

I'd like to chase down the Khivan army but, as per usual, my generals would rather spend the night celebrating their victory by loading up on vodka in their tents instead of chasing down the enemy.  All 4 of my generals are inactive this turn.  I ordered two of the armies to chase after the Khivans anyway but at the rate my forces plodding along, I don't think I'll catch them.

Things are going better against the Turks.  I took Varna two turns ago and I've now attacked Plevna and have taken the city under siege.

Tuna

Enjoy my first success against the Ottomans in North Africa, it always helps to go in with overwhelming advantage in numbers!

My Expeditionary force prepares to leave for Dakar to take on the British!.. Hopefully the mission won't be a failure, because I'd like to offer peace immediately after, so I can concentrate on the Ottomans.

Martok

Fingers crossed for you, Tuna.  Hope all goes well with the Brits -- one way or the other!

@SDR:  Is there a Russian equivalent of the Yakety Sax theme song?  Because I feel like it should be played on your behalf whenever your generals bumble around like that.  :buck2:

Martok, even if there was, to us it would sound epic and awesome.  8)

I think that is the last of the Ottoman's that invaded my colonies.. or they ran to Tripoli (where I am moving next)!

I landed my forces North of Dakar, combined them with the existing forces there and ordered them to move to Dakar. I put them in Defensive Mode, as I'd like them to regain some cohesion before changing them to Assault. Hopefully this doesn't allow the Brits to go into the fortress. If so, my bad. I also put the fleet that transported them into Bombard Mode in case any altercation does occur. Back at home I have another division getting ready to depart. I'd really like to just take Dakar back and sue for peace, then maybe open a can of whoops ass on the Ottomans.. Also the UK is wreaking havoc on my shipping everywhere, and for some reason their icons all look like Battleships, while mine are Frigates  :(

Oh well, Fingers crossed.
