This looks interesting. It's a three part series made by Germans about World War II.

It's a tragedy in three acts and it's fantastic. Rarely do Americans ever consider this side of World War II or see it rendered with such thought and care.

The show is emotionally exhausting and brimming with depressing irony. We know how this story ends. So much so that the blind hopes and dreams of these characters at first seem like fodder for morbid entertainment.

Me? Why yes I did. Three episodes all looking around 90 minutes or so.

I watched the first 10 minutes of it then left...it was late and I get up way too early. It looked decent. I really like that it's a German production and therefore done with subtitles - I prefer that.

It was OK..but pretty unrealistic as far as the friendships go during that period.
