The forum activity about this game died out quite quickly.  Any further impressions by those who got the package ?
I have the matrix versions and i need a really good reason to buy these games once again.
I'm thinking about getting Command Ops 2 or Flashpoint Campaigns Red Storm (looks to me like the cold war Command Ops).

I don't believe Flashpoint Campaigns: RS is anything like Command Ops in terms of engine, gameplay, graphics, etc.  Both are great but different.

Pete, if you want to try out FPCRS, you can get the full game with just the single scenario from our contest back at the end of 2013 here: http://grogheads.com/?p=3459

Thanks for this tip.  Already downloading.

agreed.  My intent wasn't to compare them.  It was to point them to the not-a-demo-but-kind-of-a-demo contest version of the game.

Oh I don't know - I think they both share the same frisson of waiting to see what (and when) the AI will do with your orders...

LOL...never in my life have I seen someone use the word 'frisson' in speech or print. Good one ft....!!

there both fantastic products with great support, must buys IMHO. I'm also someone who owned CO1 [actually the third time i bought HTTR]  the package deal really sealed it for me. thats alot of game for the price. I like the new UI and i love the new replay feature and hope they expand it so you can keep more than one, i guess you really can now if you copy it before you play again. Once he gets the sync issue resolved i can see me using this feature a lot. Watching a battle you previously played up to a certain point and then jumping in and changing the narrative . I hope he makes it playable from both sides, that way you could play against your own plan O0 It's beta so there's going to be growing pains but i'm confident Panther will get them worked out. At the end of the day you can't go wrong with either game, but i defiantly would get CO2 before the bundle deal runs out.

With the bundle pack discount likely coming to an end in the near future, what's the verdict with the new game?  Personally, although the base game is free, I haven't really put much time into it.  Originally I thought this would be a day one purchase for me, but something just held me back and at this point not sure if I will buy it now or just wait for future installments.

the price goes away After june 16. The new build released last week is solid and so far i haven't seen any showstoppers, of course i've only played 2 scenario's  so far. CO2  right now is mostly UI changes and additions with some AI work. I really like the new UI and with Panther being so receptive to user feedback it will only get better. The content is basically the same  if you owned all the CO1 packs and it had been awhile  since i played CO1 i couldn't honestly tell you if their was a difference in play, CO1 in its final state is a very solid product.  I owned all of CO1 and the original HTTR and it doesn't bother me that i bought them again as i think CO is a special product. The commander packs price it what pushed me over the edge, thats a more than fair price even if you already own them. With the price and the desire to support Panther so CO can continue to be developed it ended up being a no brainer for me. Panther is one of the few companies that i'm a fanboy of, my advice, buy the commanders pack and give away CO1 to someone else. That way you get to support Panther and make someone's day.

Thanks Budd, appreciate the feedback...I am guessing I will pull the trigger before the 16th, I just thought for some reason I would be more excited, but just hasn't been that way for some reason.

mmm...if you are anything like me (and you are!) I'd regret not buying this during the huge discount sale and if I did actually miss the discount it's likely something I would end up buying and paying for anyway - paying full whack.

I haven't used it a bunch since I got it - but strangely, I don't feel like I've wasted money. That doesn't make much sense, I know - but the game is superb and it's just a wise investment for me...I know I will play this...not every day...not every week...but I will play it and I have a few years left in me hopefully.

Yeah, that is my fear, regretting not picking it up afterwards....in reality, it is more about when to buy them versus if to buy them.....just whether I buy them now or after the next major update, when we all have to buy them again anyway, just wish I knew what the prices will be for future updates to our existing scenarios....I am sure I'll cave this time around and then future purchases and timing will be based on how the updates/pricing happen in the future.

This! I feel exactly the same.

I love the idea of this game, but I fall asleep playing it.

I've become a sim guy, I have to fly a plane or drive a tank in a 3d world and watch things go boom while I operate a piece of complex military hardware.

Staring at 2d counters isn't for me lately, so I passed Sale or not.  I'd love to see this game zoom in and see what those 3d pixel truppen are doing in a 3d world, to me that would be ground breaking.  I may revisit this again when they go to the eastern front.
