Isn't that a tabletop game with something that looks like a digital inventory counting 'wand' thing for a gimmick?  I fled when first seeing something that was run partially through a phone app and that inventory counter thing linked to it.  Ri-dic-urous.  People already piss me off when they start playing on their phones in the middle of something else, why would I want to promote such behavior?

They shipped the rewards to the American backers a year ago, but still haven't even been willing to say anything about those of us in the big wide world :(

Ehhh.  To each is own.  Part of the reason I enjoy tabletop games is for rolling the dice and manually tracking info.  Kinda defeats the purpose in my mind.  ???

I didn't realize this developer was involved.  Did they do the whole project or did they just do the software for someone else?  Evidently the busy work was finished if they've already shipped the goods to some people.  It's too bad some of these Kickstarters have such terrible shipping issues - I see complaints about it regularly.

Kickstarters seem to love screwing over backers in many ways.
Those of Board/Card games for an example just love screwing with people outside the U.S.
Shipping months after the products are already on a 50%+ off sale in stores, screwing over with shipping labels (incurring massive customs fees) and such.

I keep wondering each time why I bother with these KS projects, and each time I forget and back another

Hey everyone!

Overnight, we hit $300,000 and unlocked Gobbet's Personal Mission!! Woo hoo! Gobbet was the first character we came up with for Shadowrun: Hong Kong and we have a lot of affection for her. Can't wait to play out the run dealing with her backstory!

We would have LOVED to celebrate hitting $300,000 with everyone (especially our overseas Backers) but creating our new Kickstarter project and running it for the first day proved exhausting for our grizzled leadership, who fell asleep around 10pm Pacific. Going forward, we'll try and find some more... sprightly people to man the helm after dark.

And now we're closing in on $350,000, which will allow us to up our audio game... which'll make our Composer and Audio Director, Jon Everist, very happy indeed. We hope this will help immerse you even deeper into Hong Kong's atmosphere.

And regardless of the timing, we can't wait to hit that $400,000 funding goal so everyone can play with Gaichu. He'll be a really cool addition to your crew of runners. Gaichu has two Growth Tracks: the Red Samurai Track & the Ghoul Track.

Yeah, me too!  The Matrix portion of the game needs some love.  I hope if we get any additional goals, randomly generated missions get in there some how.  I would love something like Shadowrun Unlimited.

You folks are amazing! Thanks for the opportunity to add more cyber-stuff to the game. Our designers and artists have been talking all morning about the things they're planning to do with your generous funding support. Glee.

And what's next?

Is0bel's personal side mission! Is0bel's parents were immigrants (more like refugees) from the Ethiomalian Territories and, as happens to many families escaping a brutal regime, they flew out of the frying pan and into the fire. Is0bel grew up in (and escaped from) the slums of Kowloon and knows her way through some of the most wretched places in Hong Kong. Unfortunately, her family still languishes in the depths of the sprawl. Her personal mission takes her back there - with you along for the ride.

What a tremendous few days, everybody. We can't tell you how energizing it is to see your outpouring of support for a project we're so passionate about.

And thanks to you, Is0bel's personal side mission will be included in the game. We really like how her character is shaping up and we can't wait to bring her to you.

Next up: Expanded magic!

With all this talk of cybertech and the Matrix, we wanted to be sure to add stuff that would benefit all the magic-users out there. For shamans, we have Shrine Spirits. These aren't your average elemental spirits who occasionally break from your control and go nuts on your party. These are great-form spirits - powerhouses who come when summoned, kick the butts point to, and then head home to pop a cold one. They won't break control, but they won't stick around long.

Phys ads (magical ninjas) and mages will gain access to Foci (that's plural for a focus item) - enchanted weapons and objects that allow adepts to deliver devastating magical attacks and boost a mage's power.

Apparently, actress Felicia Day just tweeted she is a backer, too.   :)

We’re now over $550,000 and have unlocked the Expanded Magic funding goal. What a great way to start the work week! Thanks so much to the people who have been out banging the drum for the project. It means a lot to us. And it helps everyone else too!

Okay, ready to add more play time to the game? We’re shooting to add Gaichu’s personal side mission to the story! Our former Red Samurai’s had a tough time of it, y’all. Rather than commit seppuku after becoming a ghoul, he dishonored himself by taking to the shadows. But he can’t just rot quietly in the corner - his former team of Renraku Red Samurai were also dishonored by his actions. Now Gaichu is hunted by a squad of highly-trained warriors who will stop at nothing to destroy their old teammate... and you alongside him.

The frenzy is starting to slow down, but with 28 days to go, I think we can make the $600K level and unlock the above (I hope so, it sounds like an interesting mission).  The next goal after that is +$100K for enhanced matrix.  That could prove to be tough to reach.  I hope we make it though because the matrix is kinda meh in its current form.  Fingers crossed.
