Sir Slash

I am starting off the new year playing Rome 2 with the RTW Soundtrack Mod that swaps the vanilla Rome 2 game music with the excellent tracks from the original RTW game. Unfortunately the improved sounds haven't improved my gameplay any but now at least my soldiers die to a more epic score. So that's a win in my book.

^I'm also experiencing a RTW2 renaissance having not played the game in a long while.  I forgot how much fun this game is.

MD I'm glad to see you got a chance to play Skyrim.  Great game.  What do you think about AoWIII?  It's a little different than Warlock would you say?

In AoW III, I like that you can mix and match races and classes for your leaders.  I like the tactical battles and the powers that your leaders and troops display during the battle.  I don't like that it's a race to the highest level of soldier for your armies.  And I don't like that it's easier to just auto resolve the tactical combats.  Do I want to fight a hundred battles in the course of a game?  No.  But it does kind of suck that it's just easier to click Auto Resolve.  Then it's just a matter of bringing the mostest with the bestest.  Having said all that, I think it would be a lot of fun MP with guys that don't mind beating each other up in order to win a game.  Any time someone wants to put one together, count me in.

As for Skyrim, I'm going to spend some time with it today.

Skyrim is a kind and generous lover.

No Skyrim yet.  Lost the morning to following Cracked links.  Lost the afternoon to MP Age of Wonders III.  First with bob, then with W8taminute.

Yes, Skyrim is that girl that you tell all the other girls that you're going to fall in love with and marry and they tell you that you're bat-shit crazy because that kind of girl doesn't exist. But they do. You just have to believe. And keep looking. Were we still talking about Skyrim? Yes, of course. I just wandered for a moment.

I have to agree. Almost perfect.  :D

That fantastic article on Armada 2526 Supernova inspired me to fire it up again.  Have started a new campaign as the Volmar; have already found three star systems ripe for colonization.  8)

I also very much need to get back to my Athenian campaign in Rome II Total War: Wrath of Sparta.  Must find a way to hold back the Theban/Korinthian hordes...

And yes, I was in High School still, too.

Ack!  Yes!  Skyrim was a lot of fun.  But what am I doing these days?  It looks like WitpAE PBEM (Allied air is starting to do some serious damage to the Japs occasionally) -- and maybe CMANO (editing submarines into some scenarios) and Red Orchestra 2 (I miss the Mosin-Nagant) and maybe some Wrath of Sparta and so on.

But what really happened?  Just WitpAE and ARMA III.

I love Skyrim as well, mainly because it's the only Elder Scrolls game I've ever completed, and completed more than one play through for.

One of my (too) many acquisitions this past holiday season was Oblivion, which I didn't think I'd played before, but after putting in a couple of hours I realized how familiar it is. I hate that feeling. I don't remember playing it but the Oblivion Gates and the towers within and all that jazz...I'm all "hey, waitaminute...dammit, I've played this." It's sad I can't remember if I played all the way through it. I know for sure with Morrowind, I did not/could not spend more than a few hours with it.

I picked up Flashpoint Campaigns - Red Storm over the Holidays and plan to immerse myself in this excellent tactical modern warfare sim!   O0

Got a couple of PBeM games underway, and enjoying the "heck" out of it!   :)

Don't forget to post your AAR's and tactical thoughts in this thread...
